After being hit by some gravel today on the bike I gave in and picked up an adv jacket. Not that the IH HH jacket can’t handle abuse, but being pelted by rocks made me instinctually think of the jacket first rather than my safety.
Its getting colder here, but I’m not ready to be done for the year. I really didn’t think I’d like the Klim Badlands as much as I do. It is practically bulletproof and the fit was spot on. I plan on camping with the mc more often next year which took some the sting out of the price tag.
After trying the Rev’it, Dainese and a few others I couldn’t get past how much nicer Klim was. Enough justification, time to use and abuse it. The color is an olive drab, but sure looks brown in the pics.

I really wanted to like the Rev’it @Graeme, but the fit wasn’t right. I probably sized down from how Klim is normally worn, but it was quite comfortable. It’s funny that the main complaint is weight. I guess wearing heavy clothes all the time has me used to the substantial. I like what I’ve seen from Rukka, but I’ve never seen it in person.

That Klim jacket is a really good fit on you @summ3rhays. I can see why you went for it, and the brand has universally good press.
I don't have a problem with heavy motorcycle gear. It's generally tougher, and that's what you want in an unscheduled dismount.

The new Ducati Panigale V4 has just been announced. @louisbosco this is for you!

Ducati have upped the capacity of the Multistrada to 1260 cc, inline with the Diavel. This is the new Pikes Peak variant.
There's also the Scrambler 1100, which has got a 1100 cc engine, a useful bump from the 800 cc of the original.

MCN have a piece about the Moto Morini Corsaro Ti22, which is being displayed at EICMA.
It's a one-off special based around the Corsaro, but with retro styling cues, and a load of carbon and titanium parts.
Want!

@Graeme oh i just saw that this morning in photos.. how exciting.. but i'm still waiting on news with the new 2018 s1000rr
-
The BMW press conference is about this time tomorrow, so you should know then @louisbosco.
I'm looking forward to Honda (the NSC), Husqvarna (the Vitpilen), and Kawasaki (H2 GT).

Honda have unveiled the CB1000R. It's a retro-modern design, and I really like it.
It's got 143 bhp, similar to the Ducati Monster. The Yamaha MT-10 and BMW S1000R are around 160 bhp, whilst the KTM Super Duke and Aprilia Tuono are around 170 bhp, so it's a bit down on power against some of the competition.
They've fitted it with all the electronics in the world, and a quickshifter is available on the upgraded model.

Just watched BMW's EICMA live stream. No new S1000RR for you @louisbosco! Looks like you'll have to go Italian. :o
However, they have brought out the K1600 Grand America instead.
-
Hahaha damn them! @Graeme
In their defence, they did tell me that was happening but luckily in 3 years I can trade it in for something brand new… might go for something a bit more impractical next time. We shall see!
Nice video for it. Not too dissimilar to my daily commute to the office

Motorcycle companies are buggers like that @Sam. Still, your commute through Gosport looks very picturesque.
On the new model front, Kawasaki have a café racer version of the Z900RS coming. I think that the Thruxton does it better.
Meanwhile the H2 has spawned a new version, the H2 SX. This is a sports tourer, with a reasonable 210 bhp.

@Graeme such a shame. although initial reports suggest it's either now or next year. well, the current model of the s1000 doesn't look too bad.
