IH-1955-UHR - Ultra Heavy Raw 1955 Cut
-
Lookin good!
-
The inseam on the pair which were thoroughly wetted on the washing line and hung to dry now measures 35.75 inches. I didn't measure them before, but I assume they were 36.5 as that is the inseam on the spare pair bought at the same time. I'm assuming that the shrinkage will end up more than 3/4 of an inch, but then I'm used to LVC shrink-to-fit and haven't yet properly washed any Iron Heart.

Thanks Jeansman.
I went down to Gosport today, and measured all the pairs in my size. One turned out to have a 37 1/8" inseam. Sold to the gentleman with the reasonably long legs!
If they shrink by 1.5" to 2" then they'll end up somewhere between 35" and 35.5", so should be fine.

Very resourceful, Graeme - well done! I was once looking for longer lengths of LVC at American Classics and had them all strewn over the shop floor while they were measured - they would give me discount on LVC! Do you get a personal customer's discount at Iron Heart? If so, what is it? When are they open?
-
Yes, there is a personal shoppers discount. Usually about 10%, but it depends what I'm feeling like.
We live 200yds from the office, so if we are about, we are open…..
Cool! When are the 634 UHR and 666UHR expected? After a lot of agonising I could'nt bear to see the last pair of IH-805 slip away before my eyes, though…....!
Jeansman, you only get a personal shopping discount if you supply beer.
I figured that there would be small size variations between pairs. The 1955 cut is probably the best one for me, and since I thought I might be borderline with the inseam, it was worth giving a shot.
Giles didn't say anything about supplying beer! I might come down on 12 July if I can find anyone interested/available to come with me. So far: Not interested = 2, not available = 1.

Beautiful denim on the 1955-UHR. Ordered 34 and 36 and realize I'm probably a 35
34 is perfect in the hips and thighs but snug in the waist. 36 is comfortable in the waist but BIG everywhere else. Will probably go with 34 and hope for some stretch. Will try to post pics later.
If you like heavy denim, a long rise, and room in the thighs, you'll love the 1995-UHR. Very different fit from my two other pairs of IH jeans: 634s (34) and 633s (36).

@JohnM , wow, tough position to be in. If they're unwashed and the 34 is still snug, I don't think you're going to get much relief after the initial wash. (it'll shrink 1+ inch in the waist).
The 36 might shrink to fit. Not enough before>after photos posted on the shrink. I think it's got to be the 36 due to the waist.
