Viberg

@monday:
yawn, superdenim joints i picked up
look like cheese tims & i like my cheese timbs heel better than the heels these came with. i'm also peeved cause i got no leather laces & the rough out looks like someone roughed them out. the construction is topnotch & above any timberland, but the rough out on my timbs looks so pretty when new & then wear in. these . . . well you tell me.sent an email to superdenim complaining & will see what happens. i mean at least leather laces like in the advertised picture, jeez
tbh these doesn
t look like the ones on their sale page at all…well except the soles... but you
re right about the look of the leather...looks like worn for a few times and then cleaned with some sort of brush, so that the actual look of the rughout is already gone...and these laces doesn`t to the trick at all imo...leather laces would make these look 1000times better...
keep us updated! -
Geo as is the norm you give well informed insight & make me appreciate the boot a bit more. I am in talks for laces & possibly something else to shut me up. They did state that the boot was a sample & that is why they were so inexpensive. They actually advised that they sell the boot for 700.00 which made me laugh seeing as how the IHXViberg collab is only a few dollars more, how could they sell these for 700.00???
In any event I will keep you posted.
-
Please do good sir
The boot (or very similar) was selling on their website with an original price of £395 (roughly $650)
Then the sale commenced and they were selling then as marked down from about £500 or so
Hopefully they'll send your laces but why not just phone up viberg and aak for some? Maybe someone we know could sort that for you . . . ?
I know there's always an individuals view to consider but they really improve with age and wear
Btw - what size did you go for and how do you find the fit?
-
Viberg aren't the ones that inflated the price of an item & then played a shell game with prices to make it appear the customer is getting a better deal then they are. Since that is the case I will not bother Viberg, but instead make the crappy vendor be responsible for what they sold.
The fit is great, I sized a UK 8, at this point only God knows what size that is here in the States & you are correct the quality of the materials is something you have to see to appreciate.
thanks again for the word & for talking me off the ledge
-
nope no fit pics.
too damn hot to put on those boots to take pictures. when it gets cooler if i put them on & actually like them you will get to see plenty.
oh & i'm working on the laces from Superdenim

those are a unique make-up if i ever saw one.
i like them alot & i'm not ordainarily into that contoured heel, somehow it matches that make-up.
great pick-up Foxy.
geo where are the boots you were making???
is it too early to share the details with the rest us???? i'm curious to know what you have cooking

….Funny that you mentioned the heel - I did ask for a blocked 90 degrees heel - like my first MTO's because I'm also not too much into the curved, contoured or Cuban heel…
I guess tomorrow we'll know for sure - can't say that I would mind the curved heel at the prospect of waiting another freaking 12 weeks!
-
They are the business!
Great choices there FOXY. -
Apparently, Viberg has changed their strategy for MTO Army and Service boots: no more blocked, straight heel option.
Not too sure what to think about that - does that mean I should send back the boots because this is not what I have specced, ordered and payed for? I'm sure the heel is fine - I could probably find a cobbler to change the heel if absolutely necessary, but I would have expected some kind of upfront communication over a timeframe of 12 weeks…
-
that would trouble me foxy, but then again i'm kind of obsessive if you hadn't noticed & like to be kept in the loop as much as possible. i don't micro manage but i'm not into surprises.
i think the boots are great as the are but i would voice my dissatisfaction with their curerent practice & probably ask for some sort of monetary token to show they care about me as a customer.
again that's just me & i'm cray as all hell

Really? I'm not feelin' those heels at all.

weird quoting myself, yawn. yeah i like the heel. it goes with the make-up of the boot to me. . . but of course i have no idea how it would look with a block heel or my favorite heel the Vibram #132 aka "honey Vibram" sole

I just came across these and I almost fell off my chair. Possibly the coolest boot I've ever come across…
They had a few more pics of Nigel Cabourn's assistant (or so) wearing those with some strange pants…
Yeah, these wing tips are outstanding - tried to MTO in the past, but no success so far.
