Viberg
-
It was cool enough here to get out my Vibergs yesterday. Nice to get them on my feet again instead of the Birks but sort of downer because it means summer is coming to an end.
-
you won´t be disappointed buddy @Bluegrass …still super super happy with mine they are the most comfiest pair of "boots" i own as well.
-
What last are those Chelsea boots on?
I'm more partial to the Snuff Suede variant:
-
@Broark Viberg said on IG that it was a new last, just for the Chelsea, but a similar toe shape to their 2030. I should have mine tomorrow afternoon and I can comment from a better place.
@Finn666 was the sizing consistent with other Viberg boots? And thanks for the endorsement - I had forgotten that you snagged a pair early-on - maybe post some pics of how they are breaking in?? I'm excited, these really popped me right between the eyes when I saw them… They should look good with some slimmer-at-the-cuff denim like 555s or Stevenson Overall Co. or MF wheat denim.
-
@FurattoHeddo - Brett told me that their chelsea´s are built on the 2030 last. but a 2030 boot last which is a bit different as it´s higher in the instep. not sure if they now have an extra number for that last though?!
And i really love that color way you´ve posted. could you shoot me the link to them as well please?@Bluegrass - I went with my usual size, the one i´m always going with, when choosing a pair of viberg boots - "stamped 9". cuz of summer, i haven´t worn them much lately but will see what i can do about to hit you guys up with some more pics asap. first of all i´m really looking forward to see your pair

@Finn666 thanks for the info…
Also at Mr. Porter's https://www.mrporter.com/en-gb/mens/viberg/suede-chelsea-boots/779259?ppv=2 -
Really happy with these… I sized up +1 vs. my usual Viberg size due to confusion about sizing on the Mr Porter site - they listed these boots as "US sizing" and "fits true to size" - but I'm glad I did - they slip on/off easily and they are very comfortable, with no heel slip. These boots are just what you'd expect for the price - beautifully constructed...
No doubt these will get a lot of wear - but they are so damn "pretty" I'm hesitant to beat them up!
-
Those look great @Bluegrass , the GYW construction doesn't bother me as much in your photos as it did in the Mr. Porter shots.
I might get myself a pair of the other color way.
Also, Viberg posted a photo of the SF engineer boots, should be here soon. Very excited as they look really nice!

Oh yeah! Very nice @Bluegrass

It's incredible all that Viberg does now. Just a few years ago it was all sh!t kickers, now they make danty pretty boy chelsas & oxfords.
great pick-up Big Foot, I mean Sasquatch, I mean @Bluegrass
-
They have really turned things around I guess. A few years ago they were featured on a CBC show here in Canada called "The Big Decision" they were looking for cash to keep the business going at that point. Whatever they did it sure worked. The show no longer exists but thankfully Viberg is alive and strong
-
@Bluegrass are they actually the normal (UK)Viberg size? I'd noticed the US size on the Mr Porter site as well, so was hesitant to order since I know my size in Vibergs.
-
Thx everyone for the comments/compliments!
@Broark I actually think the GYW construction works well with this boot.
@Giles tooooo funny on the "well-loved and broken-in" Chelsea boots! I will remember that pic when my boots inevitably get the first big scuff.
@tmg I am still a bit confused on the sizing, but "Viberg says" the size listed on the Mr Porter site (and stamped in the boot) is their "usual/normal" Viberg sizing. Maybe it's the nature of this particular boot last, but sizing up worked for me - I'm afraid if I hadn't sized up I might have had trouble getting them on/off easily. But I know I have a high instep. Length/width-wise these seem very similar to my Viberg engineers even though they are +1 sized.
