@Denimhead-0 got the Chelsea in the same leather. I have and love the brown version so easy call.

I had a look at the sale earlier. I'm a size 13, so it's very limited pickings, only three styles in stock.
I like the Service Boot in Sweet Potato Eco Suede, but I really don't get on with the 2030 last, as it's a bit tight in the forefoot. I'd be tempted to swap out the sole for a brick red Ridgeway sole, but that might be taking things a bit too far...
The Service Boot in Hummus Veldt looks interesting. The leather is from the Oryx antelope, and comes with scars and imperfections. I'm considering grabbing a pair.

@Tago-Mago Viberg basically use UK sizing, which is one less than the US. (For example, I'm a UK 13, US 14, and Viberg 13.)
There is a bit of voodoo for some of the lasts, though...

@Tago-Mago
If it can help
My foot length is 29.5 cm
All my sneakers are 46 eu size, 12 US size
Red wing iron ranger 45 eu size, 11.5 US size
Red wing chukka 3141 46 eu size, 12 US size
Viberg 2030 last i have in viberg size 11 and that fit me perfect -
I’m 9.5D on the dot Brannock and consistently 8.5 Viberg. I have high arches. Every foot is different, and every last is different though.

@mclaincausey wise words, which is why I will try a pair before I buy, online or not. €900+ regular is too much to spend on an at best educated guess. €550+ too, for me at least

Wow early mover’s advantage I guess. I was expecting these to take a while to arrive per the Viberg disclaimer in that regard. Welcome to the family, exact-same-Chelsea-build-in-a-different-color-of-the-same-leather! Love this boot and leather as an everyday driver that can be dressed up for work and I “needed” a black version. Glad I held off until the exact build I wanted appeared on sale.
-
@mclaincausey Beautiful boots, my 310’s are out for delivery

New favorites ️

@Denimhead-0 nice. What leather is that? Reminds me of my black service boots, a matte calf leather.
Actually on closer look maybe that the waxy commando from Stead?
-
@Denimhead-0 310 club!! Aren’t they so damn comfortable???
One day a tasty leather will entice me into a second pair!! -

I picked up a pair of Service Boots from the Archive Sale, although the transaction didn't go smoothly. My bank blocked my debit card, and before I could get them to unblock it, the sale was closed. Fortunately, Viberg were keen for me to buy them, so their customer service team emailed me an invoice the following day, and I managed to pay for them.
Then the pair of slides I tagged onto the order were out of stock, Viberg suggested an alternative colour (grey instead of maroon), then they thought those were sold out, before finding them again!
Despite all this, the boots arrived this morning. They've built on the 1035 last with Ridgeway. The uppers are Oryx, which is a South African antelope, and has scars from its life in the wild. It looks a bit like one of those badly distressed leather jackets that were popular in the nineties. They fit comfortably, maybe a bit snug around the little toe, but they'll give and be perfect before too long.

Thanks @goosehd. Viberg's customer service was good, and I'm very glad that I got a pair.
I've been after a pair of Vibergs for a while, and generally they're all built on the 2030 last, which I don't get on with. Or they sell out immediately in size 13, like the style on the 2040 last that I really liked. Or, more often, they don't even make them in my size. (If Rivet and Hide do another made-to-order event, I'm going to try to get them to remake the Jungle Boot with a stitch-down sole.)

@Graeme I have a pair of Chukka boots in the Dark Olive Janus Suede and love them. Highly recommend the material if you can chase down a pair in your size and last.
If you're subscribed to their mailing list, you will often get notice of pre sales. Quite a few times, I have seen sizes sell out in minutes for hot releases in difficult sizes. By the time it's released to the public those sizes are long gone.
-
@goosehd I'm on the mailing list, but I'm also in Australia, so the release times for Viberg are normally at 2 am or 3 am, when I'm asleep.
I'll keep my eyes out for a pair of the Dark Olive Janus Suede boots, but I'm currently between jobs, and I've got enough pairs of footwear to keep me going.
