IHSH-62-BLK - 12oz Wabash Western Shirt - Black
-
I need a sizeing advice on these, because I'm torn between XL and XXL.
I wear an XL in my IHSH-33, which had some serious shrinkage and now meassures 21,65" pit to pit, 25,59" in the sleeves and 29,53 in length (forgot to meassure shoulder to shoulder this morning).
The fit of my 33 is very nice and from the unwashed meassurements the 62blk in XXL is closer the the 33 then the 62blk XL.
33 XL 62blk XL 62blk XXL
Shoulder 19,0" 18,4" 19,3"
Length 30,8" 29,8" 30,4"
pit to pit 23,5" 22,6" 23,2"
waist 22,0" 21,0" 21,7"
opening 23,3" 22,2" 22,9"
Arm length 26,7" 26,6" 27,2"I'm uncertain how much shrinkage I have to expect with regular washing the shirt, because ending up with a shirt that is to big and looks like a potato sack on me is equaly unattractive then being stuck with one that's to small.
Any opinions / advice?

Measurements aside…...I sized up to a lrg. from my usual med....the med fit perfect but I knew it would compact over time and get fussy. I'll be able to wash and dry the lrg with impunity.

@Cole I'm a smallish Medium and usually an S in most of the IH westerns that fit me (long enough sleeves)
I went with M on this one - the fit is good as is right out of the box with room to shrink, maybe a half a size if I do hot washes. It will get even better after shrinking but even it didn't, it's good enough for me buy/keep the shirt (and I'm quite fussy about my shirt fits)
You seem in a similar situation sizing-wise.. I'd recommend the XXL and would expect that it'll fit you well as is with enough room to get the shrinking out -
Hmm…thanks @Haddtoo 555 and @zatenm . I would give the xxl a shot, but right now the very long sleves on the xxl make me hesitate. If it will only shrink 1 to 1,5 cm these would still be to long after a 40° wash and 30 min in the dryer.
Grrr..why has it to be so complicated?

When in doubt I sometimes buy two, both will fit, just differently . that being said I certainly know what you mean about it being a potato sack, that never looks good…well sometimes

I've washed and dried my lrg twice…starting to like the fit...think I'll still get a med. I'm wearing it today, I'll post a pic.
The smallest xxl sounds safe...enjoy !

It's a hard rule to learn but sometimes you just have to walk away. I'm sure the XL will work just fine. It will just end up being a cold wash hang to dry shirt.

That shirt looks perfect @Haddtoo 555 … now I need one (but I have the -68 and the -111 ::) )

@Finkster, same here but a Black Wabash is a must have.

Here is a pic of my XL. I took the risk and washed it right after a tried it on to make sure it was not to small from the start (thanks Axel to include blue-bags for the worst case ;))
After a 30 degree wash and letting it dry on a hanger I can say I'm happy with the fit. Had some shrinkage in arm- and bodylength and barely any shrinkage in the shoulders and chest. I hope it stays like this in the future.
I will try to get some better pics up later this week.

That looks great…my Med is inbound...in my friends suitcase...this guy is a president of an American division of a Japanese company....I tell what I need....it's there waiting for him when he goes over. A true proxy.
