@long_john86 Do you have the IH socks to compare to?
-
@tody I have one pair of the IHG-030-BLK but unfortunately a hole appeared recently so I need to learn how to darn them. 100% a coincidence/combination of factors, they are beautiful socks and I’ll be getting more no doubt, but tbh I’m pretty much all in on the Decka as my daily driver. Those things take a real beating, look great, and I love the feel as well (although I know some people aren’t too keen on the feel). I already own one pair of these UES - they rock and are quite tall so work great with an engineer. Couldn’t pass up the sale! What’s your poison of choice in the sock game matey?
-
@long_john86 I'm pretty happy with the IH socks. Hadn't tried any 'good' brand socks before, always went with the cheap stuff. What I really like about the IH socks is that the sit so tight on the leg.
-
@tody Yeah I love that about my IH pair - the fit on the leg is absolutely spot on. The Decka can work its way down, although does work with ‘the look’ of them.
My next stop will be the IHG-029-GRYRED - they look superb.
@Giles Would you have to ban yourself in that situation or get someone else to do it for you?
-
@long_john86 I would gladly ban him…as well as @Matt and many others…I would let them in every morning though only to repeat again at the end of the day.

I bought 7 pairs of 'premium' socks about 18 months ago (admittedly no IH) and the only ones that really have stood the test of time are these ones from Anonymous Ism.
Chup ones were nice too, but lack any sort of elasticity, and can be an effort to get on and off!
Heavyweight Decka ones were nice too, but feel a bit loose and saggy now...
Decka skate socks started off so soft and luscious, but got real coarse and nasty after just a few months

@T4920 Have you ever tried Darn Tough?
I’ve been wearing them exclusively for a couple years. They hold up really well and have a “lifetime warranty”. So if/when they get worn out or holes, you can send them back for a new pair. Which I’ve done with a couple pairs that lasted about two years of heavy work use.Now I wear their steel toe socks for work and really like them. Very comfortable and as soft as new even after a couple years
-
@Danimal506 always heard about the brand but never gave them a go, will grab some for the cooler months!
-
@T4920 I wear their mid weight hiking sock every day for leisure. And the steely boot work sock for work, those are a bit thicker and more padded. Both are great
-
@Danimal506 all I wear is Darn Toughs. They are so hardwearing and super comfortable. I prefer their “Everyday” sock. On the thinner side for a merino wool, but still fairly thick and cushy.
-
@Mizmazzle Oh cool! It’s odd how comfy they feel even after a hundred wears and washes. I don’t baby mine either. I just throw them in the wash and dryer inside out. And they still feel great!
-
@Danimal506 yeah man. I’m a fan. I’ve got some thicker ones of theirs too. But honestly, that “Everyday” model I use for hiking and daily wear.
I’ve got some Chups I like too when I want more of a flash of color or style. But can’t beat merino wool for my liking.
-
@Mizmazzle Yea my feet are merino wool friendly. Or I should say, merino wool is friendly too my feet haha
