IHTB-01 - Extra Heavy Long Sleeved Cotton Knit Sweater
-
Many thanks Max Power and Mahlon321. I just measured one of my best fitting shirts that I had neglected to measure and it also had a chest of 19.5’’ so I went ahead and ordered the medium. I am looking for a snug shirt to wear under a collared shirt/sweatshirt/jacket so I doubt I could do the large for length anyway. This is going to be a seriously well fitting shirt/100% perfect if my calculations are correct. Will post pictures + thoughts on sizing + review when it arrives.

IHTB-01 Review:
Fabric:
First off, it’s a super beefy 10oz fabric with two-ply yarns and a snug weave. My initial thoughts are that this shirt is very bright and shiny. The sheen and use of color is so great. Taking it out of the wrapping it feels incredibly heavy, firm, rough, and hairy. At first it almost reminded me on an old hemp sweatshirt that I had, but upon a closer feel it seems to have a silky softness of super fine quality cotton despite its initial rough texture. The result is a shirt that feels and looks rugged, but is still quite comfortable (plus everything IH gets softer with wear). There is also a bit of stretch in the fabric and it seems to breathe reasonably well, though it is obviously best suited for colder weather.Fit:
In a word: perfect. It has to be the most flattering shirt I own. In fact, everyone I’ve seen on this forum wearing one looks great in this shirt. The arms are long and fitted, the collar fits snugly around the base of the neck, the shoulders seams line up perfectly with my shoulders, the length/width of the body is spot on, and the ribbed cuffs perfectly hug my wrists with just the right amount of tension. Thanks again to @Max Power and @mahlon321 who's input was of vital importance in helping me understand the sizing.Construction:
As usual, there are no weak points or neglected details; IH has delivered a rock solid piece of clothing yet again. Perhaps the biggest question I had about the construction was how such a heavy piece of knitwear could be sewn together comfortably: The heavy/soft black poly stitching is wrapped around the seams on the inside making it lay relatively flat thus reducing abrasion. I do notice the seams when wearing the shirt, but they are not uncomfortable. Another thing is all the stripes line up perfectly: the stripes from the body all line up with each other, the stripes on the sleeves all line up with each other and the stripes on the sleeves and the body all line up with each other which is seriously cool. I can’t even imagine how difficult that must have been to do from drawing up the patterns to sewing it all together because if even a single line would have been off at any point of the process it would have thrown off the construction of entire shirt. So really great job.Overall I give the IHTB-01 a thumbs up:

I NEVER wore stripped shirts before. Got an XL grey/black and loving it! Even as a base layer under any of my button down IH. Kind of wish I would have went XXL for the little extra length as like most items, just a hair short of what I personally like on me. But still a beautiful shirt and loving it!
Probably was answered way back…but why isn't there a green/black anymore? I would LOVE that combo...and is there ever a chance of black/purple? I am sure there are plenty of people on here who would like a black/purple IHTB 01

@TrickHell:
I wish they'd make the blue / black in the short sleeve.
Amen!

Been wanting another one, Red/Black in XXL or green(which seems impossible to find?)

Thinking about ordering a medium finally.. I am 5'8" and 175lbs… A bit broad shouldered as I gavehave done a little weight training iver the years... For a snug fit I like Iron Heart t-shirts in small or medium... Yet in westerns and flannels I am usually a large... What do you think? What is your height/weight? ll.o@4c:

Hi there, great fit! I am thinking about ordering a medium finally.. I am 5'8" and 175lbs… A bit broad shouldered as I have done a little weight training over the years... if the tees fit you in small and medium, go for the medium in here @harleysteen

I'm usually a Medium in IH Tees, XL (sometimes L) in westerns and flannels. I'm 1,87 m and weigh 85 Kg. I don't like tight clothes, especially with that hefty weight so i suggest going for the bigger size (XL in my case), even if the fabric allows for some stretch.

To add another
I'm a small in IH t's and med in everything else IH including these and they fit perfectly. Granted I'm not overly broad in the shoulders or long in the torso. 6'1" and 170lbs. But my arms are long and these in Med fit better than any other shirt I own which is why I own 4. The material will give a bit, but it's heavy and dense and wouldn't be worth a fight if you needed lots of stretch, would be better to size up.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
