Just working out some measurements so I can pick up a pair of these. My Levi 47's measure exactly 17 inches across and are on the loose side.
If I pick up a pair of BB 33's they should fit nicely after a stretch?
(Unhelpful reference but my IH - 666od's are a 33 and they fit like a glove after so many washes)

Looks good to go, actually wondering if I should go for a 32 instead. Might be a squeeze though!

My wife paid no real attention when I spent $120 on a pair of N&F a few months ago…when I told her I wanted these, we had a bit of a fight about it. When they arrived today and I put them on, she was quick to say that the denim looked amazing and the construction was awesome. She looked at me and said "was it worth the fight?" and I replied "yup. and it will be next time too." Dagger stare.
Anyways....I think these are great. Tight in the waist, but not painful. I wasn't sold on the hem size at first....its only 3/4 more than my N&F measured, but it's noticeable. However, the more I tried them out with different shoes, the more the hem size grew on me. Plus, I'm edging up towards 30 now...maybe its time to get a bit further away from the skinny jean.

thank you sir! I've been wearing them all evening, and the waist is already edging into comfortable territory.
So out of curiosity, should I hit this patch with some obenuafs oil? not the LP…the lightweight stuff. I'm also considering soak/no soak, but thats an internal battle I'll have to wage, I know opinion on that is fairly well divided on that for the sanforized stuff.
-
There's literally no point whatsoever to soak. I would also just leave the patch as is, get dat natural wabi sabi
-
I always treat the patch with Obenauf's LP when the jeans are new, and after every wash. Personal preference, but I like to keep the patch looking nice.
-
^ I do the same thing for the same reason.
-
i think im gonna hit it with the oil…I did a few coats on my natural veg tan belt and I love the shade of brown it ended up being.
Still not sure on the soak though...leaning towards no.

Soaking is a complete waste of time and water, we have already done that for you.
