IHSH-101tg - Ultra Heavy Turquoise/Grey Buffalo Check Western Shirt
-
You just got the whole Point of it. But I can't resist buffalo checks (but I'll sell some old gear to compensate).
-
Which one (western vs work) is the better seller? I would have thought they'd be all gone by now, perhaps due to the warmer weather. Can't wear mine until this fall :(.
-
Bad news. The more we looked at these shirts, the more we noticed a few little things that were not quite perfect. We are not 100% happy with them, so we are going to stop selling these and the IHSH-102tg.
What happens next?
- For those customers to whom we have already shipped, we are in the process of contacting them to work out how we pick up and refund or credit
- All those orders that we have received, but not yet shipped will get cancelled and monies refunded. We will contact every customer in this situation.
- We are doing a general recall from retailers
- All are going back to Hachioji to determine next course of action
Treble damn and sorry,
Giles & Haraki
-
G that must have been a very hard decision to make, but I respect that fact that you did, since that dogged pursuit of quality is one of the many attributes that separates you, Haraki and this brand from the all the rest, and why I continue to buy from you.
Fingers crossed that it's a recoverable situation and these shirts will reappear at some point
-
Without trying to get too far ahead. For those that were lucky enough to snag one in the popular sizes, is there some way of reserving these shirts, if and when they get re-released?
-
^Great
-
What exactly is the issue? What is your/IH stance if some costomers prefer to keep their recalled product?
-
Some of the pocket stitching is not parallel, some of the internal finishing is less than perfect and some of the pattern alignment is off.
My stance is that I can't force anyone to send them back, but both Haraki and I will be extremely unhappy if we have Iron Heart garments out there with known issues.
A lot of the shirts are perfectly alright. So when you get your shirt take a good look at it and if you have a good one, let's talk.

@Giles Wasn't this shirt doomed from the start? Wasn't the color different from what you'd envisioned in the first place? Either way, I'm so sorry to hear that you've found yourself in this unenviable position. That sort of decision is never an easy one to make, but you know it's the only decision to make. I remember sitting in the now closed Apple Bar in NYC with you, and you made me take my shirt off to show me the inside. You told me that the finishing is perfect on the inside and that the shirt would look just as good worn inside-out. I'll never forget that, and the level of pride that it showed me about Iron Heart and its products. I know it sucks, but I applaud you for maintaining that level of excellence. I always say, and I firmly believe, that you can't teach people pride.
