My little present from me to me - a bespoke leather jacket from SB. The Desert Run pattern, with one chest pocket removed and a couple inches off the hem, in the veg tan natural horse hide. Needs breaking in. If it wasn’t 30 degrees in my house right now I’d be sleeping in it I love it that much already.
Damn I look tired. Can’t sleep in this heat.

Thanks all. I was a little worried about the fit but Debs at SB really knows her stuff and was a great help. I haven't tried yet - just putting jeans on made me start to sweat like a pig last night - but I think I left the right amount of space for a UHF under it for when it gets really cold. Really looking forward to cooler weather to wear it properly and soften it up. Worst of both worlds today - it's overcast and hot/humid, so I can't wear it or lay it out in the sun.

Everyone in the U.K. is losing their minds over it being a bit hot and sunny lately. I’m just relishing how much patina I’m able to pump into this jacket. Already going a lovely golden honey colour. Here I’m lifting the collar to show the difference against the original leather. This is like 2.5 days of blazing sun and cloudless skies.

Yeah, it is weird how the British have been reacting, but we love talking about the weather. There was someone on the news earlier advising people to stay in the shade, avoid vigorous activity “like sex”. You’d have thought that Brits were complete ignoramuses the way the news has been babying us the last few days!

@Kasi I know the feeling. I grew up in Dubai/Abu Dhabi. Summer there is hot and humid as hell too. At least there is AC in the middle east.

I live in Pakistan for 5 months
Where it is 50 degrees.
Don’t brother me how hot is today in Manchester
yeah it gets to 50 C in Saudi. I didn't believe them but it does. That's too damn hot.

Thinking of having a custom jacket made. Was leaning toward the roadster but I also want to be able to ride my bicycle with it so Debs recommended the tailgunner with the biswing shoulders and to have a shirt tail so that the back of the jacket extends lower. I can see that both alternations make the jacket more functional but I prefer the look without. Would appreciate any advice.

@Nkwkfld My alterations to my Desert Run were not as extensive as yours (only being made for fit and to remove the right-hand chest pocket). I'd say that Debs really knows her stuff - I was nervous about spending that much and screwing up the jacket with my alterations but I couldn't be happier with the end result.
Can Debs send you pictures of what she has in mind for the shirt-tail in particular? I'm finding that harder to picture.
My Desert Run doesn't have the biswing shoulders, and my leather (the natural veg-tan horsehide) is quite stiff in the beginning, so I'd have thought that the Tailgunner's shoulders will be more comfortable for riding than the Roadster. Maybe this is leather dependent and something more supple will not be a problem. I don't ride a bike though so maybe take that with a big pinch of salt.

Yeah, I have looked at more jackets since my post and am coming around the gussets. As for the tail, I'm thinking something like this looks pretty good: https://www.burgundschild.com/en/clothing/jackets/leather-jackets/leather-jacket-youth-of-america-black
Yours is great by the way -

Yours is great by the wayI see what you mean about the tail now. Not as dramatic as I'd pictured. I presume, as a non-biker- the idea is that will reach the saddle when riding and insulate your lower-back?

More so that when I am leaning forward the jacket is not too short.

Gotcha @Nkwkfld. I say go for it. The other thing which would appeal to me personally would be having a jacket which is completely bespoke.
