IHJ-35-BLK - Japanese Horsehide Rider’s Jacket - Black (Tea-Core Dyed)
-
Good news. This is one of those rare jackets that has to be handled and thrown on the back to understand its significance. I had the SE version (but regretfully sold it), so I truly appreciate the quality of this IHJ-35. Can’t wait for the delivery of my second one.

Nice fit.
Also for me the most comfortable Rider jacket.
Enjoy this hammer piece. -

I have an old friend who's done a lot for me (and others) over the years and is damn hard to surprise with anything. However, a few years back I caught him giving the side-eye to my 9527J riders jacket and I got him one as a present. I guessed on sizing, turned out perfect, and he's been wearing it nonstop.
Well, I wore my IHJ-35 to an event a few weeks back that he was hosting and he asked to try it on. Knowing that he would never get it for himself, I gifted him one (since I already knew the correct size). Very happy that I not only was able to hook my buddy up but now am slowly helping him build his IH wardrobe. He just picked up some 634s also.

Just arrived. And exactly as I remembered: easy to wear right out of the box. I sold a previous one, but this one is permanent.
Looks fantastic. Thanks for posting those pics. Do you mind telling us your shoulder, chest, sleeve measurements?
I'm in the ballpark of your dimensions by the looks. I'm in Australia where return shipping is a pricey PITA if I order the wrong size. I'm looking at ordering something in the 36 or 38 range.
I prefer the Selfedge edition (I prefer that setup pocket-wise) but there seems to be a disparity between either the IH and Selfedge jackets or measurements or both.

Heysys,
I do not remember the actual measurements of this jacket but the jacket specs I’m most comfortable in are:
Pit-2-pit: 21 inch
Shoulders (straight across): 17.5
Sleeves: 24.5
Back length: 25My chest measures 39, waist 31, height 170 cm, and body weight 65 kg.
This jacket fits damn comfortably.
Hope that helps.

We're very close indeed thanks. The SE edition that you sold because it was too big - was that a 36/small as well or a 38/medium?

I don’t remember the specs for the SE version and I want to avoid giving you inaccurate info.
EDIT: actually, I just looked back at the sale post. The SE version was a 38 and labeled as a Medium. It was 21.75 inches P2P, 18.75 in shoulders, and slightly over 25 inches in length.

Thanks for that. I'm imagining the sleeve length was an issue on the mediums for you as well. The difference between you and me is I'm about 176cm. I'm a bit torn here. I think I'd rather it look like it fits well in the body and shoulders and be one or two cm short in the sleeve. Then again I'm inexperienced with leather jackets.
Either way, I'm going to sit on this for a while unless there is some massive markdown that forces my hand.

Cool. Having owned jackets whose costs were north of this one, I can tell you that this one is more than worth its regular price.
