Random Rants

It seriously is hilariously ridiculous.
And yeah, I’ve come to accept it’s probably a rat with as much damage as it has done - although I’ve seen field mice chew through concrete, so who knows they are capable of.

@Appfaff this is the only way to be sure…
Meanwhile, here's the conclusion from the coding test saga.
I spent four or five days working on problems for a couple of companies. Since they were basically asking the same thing (download data from a website, and display it), I wrote a very generic solution, that could be extended. This is because I'm lazy, and developers generally lack imagination.
For those of you who're code monkeys, my app made heavy use of generics (templates for those who do C++) and abstract / virtual classes.
I got turned down by one of the companies today. The feedback was that I'm obviously very clever, but I didn't do what they were looking for.
My translation: We don't have a fecking clue what he was doing, so we don't want to hire him. (I find a lot of programmers don't really get the more abstract end of object oriented design.)

Not sure if this is worth anything but:
We've been taking the dog hair and dander out of the vacuum cleaner and leaving it in tufts around the garden. Keeps the vermin out because they smell a large predator. Might be worth trying to scare it out of your car?
I know I owe you a box of dog treats Appfaff. Sorry. Jody hasn't made a large batch in forever.

So yesterday the mouse/rat managed to trip 2 small snap traps without getting caught and then ate the bait off of them (I know, pretty gangsta move) - so we bought 4 big ass Rat Snap traps. Over night it ate the peanut butter off two of them…this time without even setting them off (even more gangsta).
In an effort to weed out the idea that it came though my air filter (pretty common place for mice to hang out), we opened them up
And they looked good as new (well, 20 years old, lol).We have now bought industrial sized sticky traps and surrounded the hole that we think it’s going in in the backseat.
I am convinced this is the smartest mouse in the entire world.
I did order some new traps that the exterminator (yes, I did call a professional) told me to buy, so they should be here tomorrow. If this isn’t taken care of by this weekend, I’m probably going to straight up lose it.
On a positive note, I’ve been using uber and bumming rides from my employees for the last 2 days and I feel very metropolitan haha [emoji23]

"It's the only way to be sure." That's the winner @Graeme !

I can’t wait for the death of this thing. I don’t know what that says about me.

This made my night.
(Sorry for your misfortunes, but this is the finest thread we've had in a long time…)
