White's Boots

Nah, those are still in good shape. No need to send them back until it's time to resole them.
-
What are you doing to try to clean them?
-
I'm using some foam leather shoe cleaning solution. Am able to get rid of the stains on the crepe sole but not the leather.
If it's really bothering you, some saddle soap and then a decent conditioner should help. Be sure to condition after using the saddle soap.

I just dropped my oxfords off with a local cobbler who claimed that he could "make" me a black wedge sole which is far more durable than anything that vibram offer. Already preparing to throw them in the bin as soon as they are returned

Here we go again…..
-
But he promised
-
Haha. Well i hope he pulls though for u dude. Couldnt handle another megaheart break over here

To be fair, after a close inspection of my Oxfords, they were so destroyed that I can chance the guy having a practice on them. If he's any good I'll let him re-heel my Bounty Hunters.

The more I see if it, the more I'm convinced that lowering the heel on White's boots is a terrible idea, for exactly the reason you started.

^ Absolutely agree.
