i hope the updated version of the 54 has snaps like the IHD01 instead of the buttons. Those buttons had a tendency to come off.
-
+1 I didn't like the look of them. Would love to see some MOP snaps used again.
-
Heavy flannels have never had MOP snaps…..
I know. But they have been neglected on other shirts and maybe there's a chance to get some that work on the heavy stuff?

@TrickHell:
Those buttons are a big part of what I like about the 54. Otherwise it's just a 52 with pockets.
they definitely looked cool. both on the 54 and on the IHW01 i had to sew buttons back on more than once. when the IHW04 switched the the copper snaps I was really happy about that, unfortunately I didn't get to pick one up in time. So maybe instead of the regular heavy western snaps, the copper ones might look pretty cool on these guys. Or if it's to be buttons then maybe try and figure a way to secure them a bit better.
as far as it being a 52 with pockets…. i disagree. I had both. The fits were totally different. The 54 fitting more like and overshirt and the 52 more like a normal western.

I think that the problem with the super thick shirts like the IHW-01 is the need for a gap between the button and shirt. I've had the buttons on my melton need reinforcing but luckily haven't lost one yet. This has also been an issue on one of my MF jackets due to the same problem.
