The Flat Head

fyi Seul, those links in your sig are broken …
-
501, somehow i missed those pics when you first posted them but i think the fit is perfect for early stages of raw denim. they will soften and loosen up.
-
These are my FHxRJBxSE from last October. They were in rotation with my DC4s and have had 2 initial hot soaks and one wash. They will probably get less use this year as I will be breaking in some Roys and Imogene + Willies.
-
I would've picked those up in a heartbeat if they werent so tight….self edge wallet ?
-
They are my tightest fit Jean and they are tts. I'm glad I didn't size down. You are right on the wallet. I wore it all last year but switched to the IH FW this spring. The problem is that I really like them both so much that I switch it up frequently.
-
That's not too bad a problem to have! I was trying to decide between those exact wallets but chose the IH because it seemed to be a little more usable…...

I was thinking of getting that same Flat Head flannel from SE too but the Chest to Shoulder measurements are throwing me off. I measured the Self Edge way and I can't decide if such a small chest to wide shoulder will work. I'm looking at the 42.
Honestly, I don't trust their measurements… Well, maybe a little. I went with the 40 because I have another FH 40 that fits well. The SE measurements are slightly different between the two, but I suspect it will fit the same.
It's hard to compare to IH because it seems like IH is all over the place depending on the model and material. Depending on what we're talking about, sometimes a small fits perfectly (38) and other times I need a large (56). Then there's the 06, which has really long arms, but I love it because I have long arms.

So pleased to hear that from you, babyknight! Thanks a bunch. Will wear them as soon as the skin on the back of my knees is intact again. Feel further up was just great!

A beauty with a lot more potential. My own BSP's look so damn new, no time to wear them. What size are yours?
-
Eventually wore my new 3005s today for the first time after that hurtful soaking day. Still very scratchy on the knee bends, but the worst seems to be over. No new bruises or even bleeding. And I mean blood (mine!!!), not indigo.
The feel of the denim is awesome, and they are a constant reminder for me to lose a little of that paunch and not become a total fatso! Damn that mid-age spread!
-
Man dude, that's fukked. I'm sure 3005s are not supposed to brutalise you that way but if you insist on sizing down… :-\
-
All empathy is always appreciated.
By my standards, I did not size down at all, I went TTS. Wear W 30 with my 634S, for example. W 31 here. It really is the denim, not the size. I've done the bathtub ritual several times, including with jeans that were quite tighter than the 3005s. No war wounds like this time ever before. But don't get me wrong, I've no regrets. Wear them as I write this and am sure the 3005s will grow into good friends, just like in those buddy movies where there is lots of conflict at the outset, from which true friendship grows.

Haha, I appreciate your perspective!
