IRON HEART World Tour II 2011-2012 - Beatle Buster SBG

Sorry for not having been able to contribute more last night, i had one two…many scotches and decided to hit the sack early. anyways, let's see, where was I...
This is another Berkeley staple, Blondies. I suppose you can say i chose favorites because i snapped photos of Blondies and not Fat Slice, but either way, in all honesty, i can't really tell the difference between the two pizza places.
A little closer to campus is this Subway. Nothing really special but it is one place in the past that i have received preferential treatment! Well, perhaps it was not only me, but when i asked for more pickles on my sandwich they were the opposite of stingy; i can still taste them to this day. (not really, that would be gross)
And now begins the actual act of walking in to berkeley and checking out a couple of spots through campus!
This is right next to where the Subway is, and one of the places to cross so as to head into the campus, hence the fuckload of students behind the dude trolling in his car. One day i will exact my revenge on that guy.
See, the car moves and the flood of students is released upon me! AHHH!!!
One thing that i notice more and more now is that students at Cal are getting more and more anti-social. The amount of headphones and iphones and homophones(def: Each of two or more words having the same pronunciation but different meanings, origins, or spelling, e.g., new and knew.) in use while casually walking through campus is roughly 55-60% of the students, the other large majority are people eating. Ehh, i suppose i am not complaining though, as i am one of these anti-social individuals walking around listening to audiobooks on my ipod.
This building we have here on the right is Sproul Hall! It is truly the Mecca of all students in the application process and throughout their time at Cal. If not for the admission and records department being there, then for the financial aid department being located in this building. You can often wait an hour or two if you go at a busy season so do your best to get that shit sorted out as best you can on your own or during a less busy time.
Here is one entrance to the Cal Student Store. On this top floor are clothing for men, hats of different sorts and other bits and pieces of tomfoolery. the floor below it has some non-academic books, women's and children's clothing and what is known as The Scholar's Workstation, which is basically the place you go to buy computer shit with a limited selection available and crazy prices on anything less than $100.00. Finally on the bottom floor is where you get textbooks, other reading books for class, materials for your classes, lab coats, paper, pens, notebooks, graduation stuff when its spring, backpacks and DEBT!
Also, a side note, i do not know if these are students exiting the Cal student store or if they are asian tourists. In all seriousness, UC Berkeley is a crazy big destination for a lot of visiting Asians. During the nicer climates of the year you will see tons of photos taken by large asian groups at the hot spots around Cal.
Down a little way from the top entrance of the Student store is Lower Sproul plaza off to the left, and on the right its the Cesar Chavez Student Center. For the next couple of years i am going to be interning there, doing a lot of data analysis and compiling charts around quantitative and qualitative data and also hoping to get some work experience in advising. I had snapped a couple of photos in there, but they were too dark so i deleted them, anyways, this is it from the outside!
Over here to the left is the building known as Wheeler. Even before getting to Cal, i had a couple classes here. This location is used mostly as a hub of different rooms used for discussion section. There is one large classroom/auditorium on the first floor, but eh, if you have seen one big room with hella seats you've seen them all.
And finally, for this post at least, this is the central vein that runs from the south side of campus, Telegraph ave, up through to the north side of campus. The two gates at the respective entrances are known as North gate (for the north side) and Sather Gate (for the south side, though it is already in campus a bit before you pass through it).
On a side note, i think this guy thought i was wanting a photo of him. hahaha -
Awesome update!!
And the Asian ghetto is a must visit. I also visit CREAM when I have cash to burn on cookie ice cream sandwiches.
i have never been a fan of CREAM, partly because the ice cream sandwich thing doesn't appeal to me and partly because Fuck Them for using a play on Wu-Tang Clan. Either way, i know they are super popular, but it's not a place i frequent so i showed my bias via not covering them. hahahha

To each his own.
I guess you can say I felt the same way but after tasting one of their sandwiches, my stomach prevailed.
Great updates though!

Alright, where did i leave off??? Oh yeah, almost through campus.
This structure right here is called Campanile (said: cam-puh-knee-lee) or otherwise, and much less often referred to as Sather Tower. Its a big ass clock that rings at the hour. The funny thing also is that it is much like a 10 minute warning if your class does start on the hour, because in berkeley, we are on Berkeley Time, which means instruction begins at 10 mins past the starting time in the course catalog.
Walking past Campanile and toward North Side, i pass Memorial Glade, which often will host a myriad of students on a sunny day relaxing in the grass or a game of Ultimate Frisbee or something. This day we all got lucky, and I got to take a photo of the Harry Potter De-Cal playing quidditch!
Back from school, now i can finish my post:
So just behind Memorial Glade is Evans hall, one of the buildings where many many many different groups use the smaller and larger classrooms to facilitate group meets (and by group i mean club) and where many discussion sections of different classes meet.
This here is North Gate. Not much of a gate, but it lets you know you are on the north side of the campus and i suppose that is note worthy.
This is Euclid, it marks a tasty food journey with favorites such as Vinny's(cheese steak and wings), Urban Turbun(Indian wraps, fuckin awesome!) and La Vals(pretty good pizza, amazing cobb salad) on the Left and Bongo Burger(quick fix, good burgers), Celias(slightly pricey, but good mexican) and an awesome corner store that has anything you need; from sodas and chips to bottles of wine and 4 loko.
This is my school. The Franciscan School of Theology. I am studying me some Jesus, but i promise that you will never hear me praise or force my opinions or thoughts or any of that on anybody here. For all intent and purposes, i am a secular ass muh-funker on the IHF.
But this is my school so i figured i would show ya'll.

Ok, so during the same trip that i took to my school, after ward i had homework…basically just a fuck ton of reading. But remember when i said that i had to make a pit stop in emeryville first? i brought what i bought along with me to take a few snaps in the library...
drum roll please…
Now i will be the first to admit, Hennessey, or "Heem" as it is often called in the bay area, is not exactly my type of drink. I don't like cognac, cognac doesn't like me. However, i am a fan of collecting one-offs. Futura, the graffiti artist who did this collaboration, is the newest in the collaborative parties to do artwork for Hennessey. Last year Kaws did a bottle, which i also own, and i expect more graffiti artists to be approached some time in the near future.Anyways, not to seem like all i did was go to the library and take photos of alcohol, i took a few shots of what i had to read and made sure to give you a grasp of how much it was..
my phone is about 5" tall, so its a fair bit of pages to go through.
And keeping in tradition of where i was reading,

It was pretty dead that day…

That day concluded, but here are some photos from when my parents and I went out to celebrate their 25th anniversary…3 weeks later
(conflicting schedules suck ass)
WARNING: the following is a bunch of photos just giving a brief illustration of how we got where we went.
Anyways, heading away from my house and toward the restaurant:

yeah, 4/20 is celebrated with a big ass group of people smoking nearly countless amounts of blunts/joints and even a few edibles being shared.

Getting close to the end of my leg of this journey (PETE CHECK YOUR PM's! :D) but i'm not done yet!
Continuing from last time, we finally made it to the restaurant, Platano. It is a Salvadorian Restaurant that specializes in Pupusas (more on those later) and it was where my parents wanted to go for their 25th anniversary so who was i to stop them!?!?
These two are my parents!, or as i often refer to them, the parentals.
This is the menu of where we were. Seeing as i always get the same shit, 3 pupusas de queso con loroco (which is some kind of flower), i just thought it fitting to take the menu as i would be seeing it.
I always ask the waiter which beer they recommend, and today it was Suprema. Not bad, would def buy again, but then again it might be that i like most south american beers. (those that i have tried at least!)
The game (Niners vs. Detroit) was on, and what can i say, the Niners did what they do best.
So here came my 3 pupusas with cheese and loroco flower inside!
And here is how they should properly be dressed up (with surtido the cabbage stuff and sauce!)

Massive denim overload post coming within the next few hours. finalizing photos and cropping. in other news, its lunch time. till later.
-
So think i am the only member who has not posted a decent photo of what the WT jeans look like on their person, i am here to remedy that now:
Because i wanted to make it clear, those Flints arent the new retros, them be the 2004/5 retros…
(made in 2004, released in 2005)Now that i feel i have fulfilled my required fit pic, i also felt that it wouldn't be such a bad idea to share with you all my humble collection of denim i have. There are a couple of things missing, 2 denim jackets, some imperial duke shorts and a few random misbegotten pairs of jeans, but this is the bulk of it.
Also, the jeans are in no particular order, though some mean more to me…actually, no, they all mean a lot.
-
ohh. oh no. not done yet…
But before i post the next set of photos, i really wanted to bring attention to this first pair. I bought these in Paris at Printemps over 3-4 years ago and i really was never able to find much information about this brand; other than that its made in France and fits/feels a shit ton better than APC while keeping the same minimalist aesthetic. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Anyways, on with the show.
And the pair that i will be switching back to after my leg of this wonderful tour is over…
Thanks for looking everyone. Peace!
