Hello IH crew,
when can we expect the next delivery to fill the missing sizes in the stock?
Cheers

Oh wow, that's faster than I've expected. Great news, thanks @JoshC

Back in these as temps have dropped
325 wear days is where we’re at -
First time poster here, I’ve been lurking for a while. Gone absolutely ballistic buying too many 888s over the past 6 months, so good. Wish I had tried IH before the other big JPN brands. IH is the best.
The 21oz indigo and the 21 oz indigo black are my faves, but the 25oz indigo black is really something else, amazing.
Any word on restock for the 888s 21oz? I may pick up another pair and cryo sleep it. So comfortable.
Also, I seem to remember a staff post implying incoming hand dyed natural indigo denim soon. Is that still happening?
Thanks!

Is anyone familiar with the Japan Blue J201 or J301. Just like the IH-888S-21, the Japan Blue has a back rise of 39-41 cm. This gives me the diaper effect with the Japan Blue. But the Japan Blue is a mid rise right?
The IH-888S-21 is a high rise, so it should sit higher and I should have less of diaper problem with the IH-888S-21? -
@SashaDBZ Not familiar with the Japan Blues, but for context, different brands create different arbitrary labels to their rises within the brand. I'd 100% go by measurements alone. even "straight" or "taper" cuts....it doesn't matter, only measurements and how you wear them. Hope that perspective helps
Another thought on rise: this totally depends on where you want them on your hips. If you were to hypothetically assume that your crotch seam is the point that all other measurements are based off, a higher rise would do just that, RISE from the crotch. BUT if you base a waist measurement off a lower rise pair, and wear them at the same spot youre familiar with, the crotch will sag a lot and you'll end up with hella stacks. i base my fit from the ideal crotch position, then the thighs have a minimum, then a good rise to cover the buttcrack. ....just my rant about fit

@JoshC Hey Josh, based on your timeline it seems like we may be seeing this restock soon? Any update?

Just a bit over the one year anniversary of my 21oz 888. I don't wear them every day but I probably get in 2-4 wears a week, you can see that they're nice slow faders. The waist definitely stretched a bit but I think if I get another pair someday I'd probably size up.
-
@schraiber what size are you currently wearing? Btw great scenery!

@TinMan these are tag 33. I'm 5'11'' and 175lbs or so (actually been a while since I weighed myself). I was debating between a 33 and a 34 but had recently been burned by a pair (from another brand) stretching out so much I needed them tailored, so erred on the side of the 33. I don't remember what they started at in the waist but nowadays they're something like 16.75 inch flat, and I think I'd be happier with 17 or even 17.25 flat. It's fine if I'm not tucking anything and standing, but as soon as I try to tuck or sit down it's not optimal.

Welcome to the eternal battle! to stretch or not to stretch. I have so many jeans that are so perfect fitting when I am standing. Sitting for extended periods of time or layering changes everyrhing. For the longest time I thought I was in between 36 and 35, stretched out my 35 and I now I think I am between 35 and 34. Some IH denim guru once told me if you can get them buttoned they will “eventually fit” for what’s it worth your fit looks good. I will probably keep all my 36, my 35 and maybe buy a 34 to rotate based on season of life, I am always up a few or down a few!
I am currently 6’ 1” 180

@WhiskeySandwich i think you nailed it! I just had a PM conversation with forum member and for me and my body type its all about the rise. It took a long time for me to understand drape and silhouette. Measurements are always the best guide. I always tried to force the fit. Did not let the drape and silhouette do its thing. Example people say 888 is the modern smarter 1955. I see it a little different IMHO 1955 is meant to be worn a certain way, above hip bone just below Naval. 888s is better worn sitting right on the hip bone I love both but they are extremely different when worn despite similar measurements. I like to think street car desire Marlon Brando vs NWA late 80’s early 90’s. Both classic both denim wearing icons, but different style.

Apologies in advance, my spirit animal is Cliff Clavin wanted To clarify, my thinking. sizing dilemmas can be a real struggle sometimes. They can be pricey. Like gambling make rules and set minimums. In order of importance. For me Minimum FR 12” combined rise FR+RR 29, minimum waist 17.3, minimum thigh 13.3. I try not to experiment under my minimum requirements, I will sometimes but not typically.
Digressing on previous statement 888s vs 1955s, if a slimmer looking silhouette is considered a smarter fit then 888s is indeed smarter, but still a relaxed style.
I truly hope this helps anyone struggling with size decisions.

@TinMan Dude yea, combined rise was a big thing when I was figuring out the 888. I def have max/mins for everything. It's why my 888's fit damn near the same as my 777's, except for the rise/waist. 777's hang off my ass, which isn't bad in the summer. I love the way my 888's fit though, it's def the perfect cut for me. The hardest part is figuring how much stretch to expect.

@WhiskeySandwich fo sure Stretch is tricky. I have both 36 and 35, I can wear both but have to soak the size 36 more often due to stretching slightly past my maximum.
