IHSH-196- Indigo Check Western Shirt

I know it is unlikely, but I hope this fabric gets sewn up into a workshirt.

So some of you guys know that I'm weird and habitually iron (w/ steam) all of my IH gear. I prefer the crisp look on my shirts and jeans, and learned years ago that high heat and a little steam can counteract the slight shrinkage that continuous washing can bring to your favorite gear.
While I do not always see increases in measurements after an iron (w/ steam), I notice that the flannels almost always have a good bit of room to grow, especially after a wash.
For those of you guys in between sizes, and don't want to have to dry on hot, here is my IHSH-196 XL sizing brand new, and after a hot steam iron.
I do not guarantee that I measure exactly as IHUK does, but I consistently measure all of gear the same way, so the sizing differences in before and after are not due to measuring differently, although my measures may not coincide exactly with what IHUK provides.
IHSH-196 XL:
Shoulders: 19.185 -> 19.185
P2P: 23.325 -> 23.65
Opening: 22.4 -> 22.6
Length: 30.5 -> 30.625
Sleeve: 26.75 -> 27hope this helps someone along the way!

Shoulders and P2P are definitely roomier than the IHUK measurements.

He mentioned above that he specifily asked the crew for the biggest variant in the ordered size, so it makes sense its bigger.

This is thicker than expected and even my wife said how nice it is. Very pleased indeed.

@Giles the shirt is incredible! Perfect weight and the colors are beautiful. The shirt feels a little softer than the 193 and has just a tiny more bulk.. I am most pleased. The sleeves are a good length too. It is a little slim around the belly. But if I gave up beer for a month I'm sure it would fit roomier like I like. I look like I am 4 months pregnant at the moment.
Thanks a lot. Best plaid shirt I have ever seen! I love it!
Love will lift us up where we belong!

Thanks Matty, it's just the front camera on my Samsung S7. I stand in front of the medicine cabinet because there's 8 incandescant bulbs in there and it gives good light.

I translated this tag if you're interested:
Handling Precautions
<indigo dyed="" product="">Because of the nature of dyeing, this product may transfer color to other clothing, underwear, pale belt, bag, sofa etc due to wearing friction or sweat, Please be aware of coordination and handling.We recommend wearing similar colors. Since it may fade, please do not wash with other things when washing.
Please do not use chlorine bleach or detergent blended with fluorescent whitening agent. · If you leave it wet for a long time, the color may fall and the fabric shrinks.
After washing, please prepare the shape and immediately shade in the shade. Because it may change color due to sunlight or lighting for a long time, store it in a place not exposed to heat and humidity and store it
Please be sure to store it separately from other clothing. S-MC-07</indigo>

Hoping it works out for you @madmoses - I will admit, this is definitely. More trim fit on me, but overall, it’s what I wanted with a summer shirt. I’m sure my normal
UHF size would have been fine, but I wanted to give the XL and happy that I did.Still not sure how my Large 201 will turn out haha [emoji23]

Dropped the ball and decided after IHUK launched I needed this classic I even saw it in stock and passed. I Just missed out at rivet and hide…. pretty sure I’ll score at SE
Fingers crossed anyways

SE is usually good about having decent inventory. However, I just checked their site and they just put up the 195 which appears to be sold out already. Either that or they're still adding inventory. The 196 appears to have sold out almost instantly from IHUK and those vendors that picked it up.
-
@gaseousclay I sure hope SE doesn't sell out instantly. And if they do, I hope I am one of the chosen few lol
-
@appfaff , I am curious if this shirt will shrink if I wash and dry heat. My main concern is to shrink chest ptp

@madmoses I stand corrected. It looks like SE was updating their inventory when I checked their site earlier. Now the 195 is showing up as fully stocked. In other words, if you check SE's site daily i'm sure the 196 will pop up and you'll be able to nab one. I love the look of the 196 but i'm passing because the ihj-69 is calling my name

It is helpful to know that the fabric on the workshirts is not exactly the same, lighter in color. I prefer darker generally.
Here’s a work shirt/western comparison. Western on top. Basically the two shades of indigo used are reversed in the pattern.
Thanks. I was able to get this shirt - the Western - from Rivet and Hide and it came in yesterday - beautiful. The work shirt is nice too, but for my tastes this was the must have. The white buttons add a nice touch too.
