I seriously love stuff like this.
To my tatted brothers….how would you guys say I would know I'm really take make the jump to that first one? I always go back and forth on it....seems like such a hard decision

Hello Ben its your decision getting inked, its personal imo and lasts a lifetime. For me i always love getting some ink when I feel ready and my mind comes up with ideas my artist is bringing mostly freehand on my body. atm i am doing a lil break and then I'll start again. Take your time and speak to some artists you like, what style you like to have, what kind of ideas you have already etc.
For sure its a great experience if you are ready for itScarred for life

I had to cancel my planned appointments for my leg, but got one of the (in my opinion) best dudes out there probably doing my legs next summer. My favorite artist together with Shige and Thomas Hooper - so I'm damn excited and hope it works out fine.
@ ben: The best way (IMO) is to find an artist that has an own unique style that matches what you want to get. Don't ask a traditional guy for dotwork etc. Give him a rough idea and enough freedom and trust to make it work. I think of it like going to the doctor or haircutter - I can tell him the problem or the desired result, but will not tell him how to do it and am open to his expert opinion.
A funny story btw - I met an old friend yesterday that has a big tribal on his arm. He had it done in a crappy sun tanning studio in two sessions. When he returend for the second after a year or so, the guy said: "Who did this? It looks awful." Didn't keep him from continuing.

Lol….thanks for the answers guys! The only tattoos I really find myself loving are traditional ones. Also dig hoopers stuff but that's hit and miss with me. Anyway....it seems like almost all the artists id want to be tattooed by are in/around New York and I'm not the type to settle, so ill probably wait until I have enough scratch for tattoos and plane tickets, which should leave me plenty of time to think.
For me though, I pretty much know that if I were to get tatted I'd end up with full sleeves eventually which is a crazy thought.....imo traditional tattoos kind of look lonely unless they're next to a bunch of others...

^ full sleeves all the way baby
but i'm with davito and flo on this…think before you get some ink. shit ain't coming off that easy
