IH-888S-142ib - 14oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High-Rise Tapered Jeans - Indigo/Blk
-
I can’t tell if these are blue or black. Are they blue on the outside and black inside?
-
@jmceachern My 25 oz ib has a navy blue appearance when new on the outside and are black on the inside.
-
@bluemantra thanks. Are they fading at all yet?
-
@jmceachern very slowly. About 3 months wear or so.
-
@jmceachern the warp is indigo, the weft is black. The face of the denim is a very dark blue, the reverse is black
-
@Alex Thanks.
-
@bluemantra Looking good! Like the contrast.
-
Can confirm the presence of this extremely dope denim on my body. Thanks, as always, to the IH team for helping me find the right pair. I started wobbling on my bike ride in today, looking down, thinking “are these purple? Nah…, but kind of?”
Pictures later.

Can any one tell me if the method/nature of dye somehow influences the denim itself, it's features?
I started wearing my 888 14oz ib recently and noticed a certain difference in softness and overall feeling with my 888 14oz indigo dyed pair. Subjectively ib feels softer and even thiner then indigo dyed one. Are there two identical denims being used? Love them both, just curious -
@Yoprst I’ve tried to theorize about this too. They do all feel pretty different. My 14oz pairs seem to have only weight in common, as they kinda have different drapes. I’m sure yarn details are the same aside from the dye, and I know a dyed weft also changes the fabric characteristics. Same with all my 21oz. None feel the same, they drape a little differently and have a different hand. I’m sure there are also variances in batches too, maybe from small tension differences or minor differences in the cotton. But too many variables to put a finger on really.

@WhiskeySandwich thanx for the input. Let's see what IHUK team has to tell in this regard, condition they are willing to reveal their secrets

IB matches different colors and shades really cool. Awesome combo with classic indigo
