Has anybody sized one up on those. I have to go to tag 40 to fit my thighs and have a acceptable knee measurement. I just don't want to top block to look sloopy. My normal tag size is 38 on the 888 cut and 36 or 38 on the 634 depending if i want a slim looking profile. Cuts 666 and 555 are no go at all. By the time i get to an acceptable thigh the waist is out of control. What younguys think? Worth a try or wait for a 634 restock
I think it is worth a try sizing up on the 777 cut. It's what I have to do to get the thighs to fit and to compensate for the lower rise. I've even sized up two to three sizes before and it still works out. The top block doesn't look sloppy to me because my thighs/glutes will still fill it out some and it's pretty damn comfy honestly having a looser more comfortable fitting waist out of the bag..especially with a low rise. It actually ends up being a very nice, slim straight fitting jean. I know it says they are tapered, which they are, but to me they have more of a slim straight look when sizing up. Some of my best fitting pairs are sized up 777's.
This is just my experience of course.

@yannis I should specify that I don't own this particular fabric in the 777 cut. I was referring to the 14oz, 21oz and 21/23oz UHR (old run, not the most recent release) of fabrics of different variations (Indigo, overdyed, black/black) when speaking on my experiences with sizing up.

fwiw, a tag size 34 666 with new measurements of 34w, 12.2t, 10.5/15.0 rises is about right for me and recently tried on the tag size 34 of these and they fit how they should. Which is to say they fit as a very low rise, which is somewhat confusing given that the numbers on these indicate that they should sit in a similar place relative to my hips as on the 666's, but they dont on me.
The 666's when stretched to 35/12.5/11/15.5 fit on and just above my hip bones, these 777's feel a mile away lower showing off a lot more of my underwear all the way around the waistband. Otherwise, the top block width feels similar to me and the thigh to knee taper also feels similar'ish to the 666 unlike the NOLOTS where it seemed to taper to the knee much more quickly giving a very tight fit in the mid and lower thigh. (also a tag 34)
I also have a pair of super broken in / stretched out 634-21OD's in a tag 33 with a 35/13/10.5/15.0 dims and the rise on those feels more similar to these 777's but those still sits a bit higher. Definitely a roomier width top block for obvious reasons.
A size up might have worked for me in this collab, but worried they may have looked a little big in the thigh/leg. The size I tried was spot on in everything except with how low it sits for me. Unsure if that helps you at all.

Thanks guys. I wii give it a go. 666 is definitely a no go the thigh is slimmer than the 777. Going tag 42 on 666 is not an option when i am tag 36 in the waist. My ideal fit wil be a pair with a 36 inch waist and a 14.4 thigh. Good luck with that. So usually i go tag 38 on 634 and make it to work.

Fit pics: out of the bag - no soak or wash yet.
Fit pics of black denims are always kind of difficult because of the missing contrast. But believe me: they fit like a second skin taylored especially for me. Can't be more happy

@Mickey GT they look perfect! Really dig the Autry sneakers too…
-
@Mickey:
Thanks a lot gentlemen @jerkules & @Dmart
The 777 cut is the perfect cut for folks with skinny legs and thighs - like me
@jerkules: "Autry" –> good eye! Veeeery comfortable kickz
Not my preferred cut since I mainly wear boots and they are too tight in my size, but I will get one office pair at one point.
-
I definitely know what you are talking about @Dmart
Luckily the leg opening of a size 33 is wide enough for wearing boots.
-
Time to soak…
-
I like them and the cut but miss the red w.

After a long while, picked these up from SOP. There is a lovely mix-up(?) on the patch that made me chuckle.
Great collaboration!

It‘s a great denim @tecnica222 : good choice. I am wearing mine now for almost 2 months and it develops beautifully…
-
For exactly 2 months my daily denim… most of the development at the top block…

How much shrinkage did folks get after cold or hot washes? Also, I thought Giles had said at some point to be careful washing these in hot water out the gate because they can marble…???
-
definitely soak them before you wash them in the machine. make sure they are completely wet and turning inside out is not a bad idea either.
-
@Daniel-San thanks!

Mine are getting pretty beat up. Got a hole in the seat from my phone rubbing and both front pockets have holes up top on the inside closest to the fly..so weird since I don't even use my front pockets. I'll be going on my 5th wash
