Nice! Looks badass, man. Btw I also like what I can see of your bag — what is it? Filson maybe?
Thanks, mate! Yes, it’s my trusty Filson 257. So sad it’s discontinued now. It’s got way more space than the 256 while not being as chunky as the 258 Computer bag.
-
Ahh cool — thank you! I was actually looking at Filson recently and was wondering if some of the stuff had been changed, and you've answered that question for me. I have a duffel of theirs I've beat to hell — it's about 15 years old, really has done its job with plenty left. I need a good sort of refined/classic messenger. Been hoping to find something I like in leather, but that's turned out tougher than I expected. Who knows, might end up with one of the newer Filson offerings if I can find one I like!
-
Glad I could help! When I was first looking at an upgrade from the Crumpler Cheesy Disco (great bag btw!) I was using and abusing for 8 years, I was also confused by the different Filson models…
The 256 is a legendary briefcase and if you can live with limited space, it might be a great option for you! It can fit a 15“ MacBook, a few books, pencil case, and/or a light jacket. It’s made for thin things though, so don’t expect to store your chunky lunchbox or a DSLR camera bag in it.
There’s even a (ridiculously expensive, imo) leather version of it,

you may have looked already, but if not I can highly recommend Saddleback Leather, I have the "flight bag" which carries my computer, lunch and a few other things quite easily and looks great as it wears and construction is tank like

apologize for the thread derail…. I have the IHJ 35 riders jacket without collar... and I love it.

Putting on a COVID mask that’s been sitting in the 54s jacket for 24 hours makes you forget any mask anger, trust me

After now ~25 wear days, this thing has officially passed the „I’m better babying this“ point and I’m throwing it on to whatever occasion. I absolutely love this heirloom piece!
Still a long way to go to really uncover the true character of this leather and I’m looking forward to it.What I’m surprised of is how wearable this thing is in cold weather < 10deg Celcius when thrown over a long sleeve. I have yet to wear it zipped over a UHF, because it’s just too hot.
Wore it today with my 888 UHR, Cream 1600 and Samurai Western.
Does that count as tea core?

Looking great.

Let’s get some Teacore fading through in 2023.
Off to a good start with mild temperatures here in Munich -
Hey everyone, been lurking for a while now, finally decided to take the plunge on this jacket after being convinced by this thread.
Figured I would post a few pics, cannot fully describe how impressed I am by the craftsmanship of this piece, I own several other jackets from other well known manufacturers but this piece truly stands out.
Think I nailed the fit, let me know what you think, just wearing a light tee in the shots, can fit a 12-14oz work shirt under the jacket in addition to the tee - after that it gets a little dicey but thats how I’d normally wear it.
Anyways, I’m looking forward to wearing the hell out of this thing and will post some updates in the future.
Cheers.

Looks amazing :o Love your belt too? Is it from The Flat Head?
-
Very nice @Weezy_CAD looking forward to seeing the updates!

Thanks! It’s actually from a Amish leather worker on Etsy of all places (Everlasting Belts), I’ve had it for 4-5 years now and its holding up really well - the hardware on it is from some old western belt I purchased quite awhile ago.

Damnnn, it really is everlasting! I'll have check them out.
Hardware is what really caught my eye though. Is that crimped effect around the buckle pressed into the steel? It matches the stitching perfectly… quite possibly the nicest belt I've ever seen.

Oh wait, I've seen FW23
Uh oh…
@Weezy_CAD Great fit with enough room for some layering! Pretty similar to how I sized mine. I really enjoy being able to wear the 14OZ hoodie underneath. Works both unzipped (above) as well as zipped (below).
Congrats on that purchase and enjoy the journey!
Bonus shot showcasing that stunning leather. Can’t get enough of it…

Still my favourite Iron Heart (therefore any) leather jacket.
Oh wait, I've seen FW23
Go on…
