I gave them a 20 minute trip through the dryer (after I dried them on some fans) and they are crazy soft and comfortable. They have to be the softest jeans ever!!
-
@Anesthetist I took these for you because you were saying you wanted to see me beat the shit out of them. I hope you enjoy.
I love the high contrast train tracks on these.

@SKT Thanks!! Iron Heart does all the work. I just sleep/live in them. And maybe obsessively stroke my legs with my hands They are really great, and I absolutely love them, but truth be told I don't know if they are all that different than regular 21 oz denim visually. I feel like maybe they are softer than regular 21 oz denim. So maybe check out a pair of the anniversary jeans to sate your hunger in the meantime.
Part of the vibrant blue highlights has to do with the UV index and outside light. I look at what the weather is going to be and wait to take pictures during morning or evening light.
This is the same jeans taken with an expensive Nikon camera I still don't know how to use.
I think a lot of the blue has to do with an algorithm the camera on my Samsung phone does behind the scenes. I don't use any filter or anything else I just crop the pictures slightly.

I actually have a pair of 21L only in the 666 cut. Mine are nowhere near yours in fading but the electric blues are definitely coming through. I totally agree with you about how soft they are too. I just remember Giles saying they weren’t going to make anymore of this denim and I think it’s a shame. Here’s a quick pic of mine (sorry wrong thread). I’ll try your tips on lighting so I can maybe capture the blues better.

Clothes Photography is a lot more difficult than you might expect, and I think Iron Heart’s clothes photography is second to none. Everything about it from the way they compose their images to the natural rendition of the colors of all their garments. Having said that I think your Nikon pictures are quite good. They accomplish what you wanted. I think the jeans look great from a fading and a photographic perspective. The best way to learn how to use your Nikon is to take lots of pictures and see what works and what doesn’t work. @Filthy

Both auto and full control. I just use it in auto mode. Because I have no idea how to do anything else.

How about this for starters. Since your not shooting sports/action and your not (I think) using a tripod your shutter speed should be 1/60 second for a minimum 1/125 might be better. Shooting between f8 and f11 should give you enough depth of field. Now just set the ISO to a setting that works with one of those f stops and shutter speeds. A good starting point. Just try it until you’re happy with the results.

@Jett129 thanks a lot man , I'll give it a try tomorrow and post about it in the camera thread. It's threatening rain now or I'd try now.

I JUST bought the 634S-A but those electric blues are so gorgeous that I’m getting serious FOMO. They are so blue it’s almost surreal! Super defined whiskers and combs too, I imagine these will epic with more abuse.
I bet being LHT they are soft as kitten whiskers too.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's interesting how the crease patterns are almost the same on all three of my 634 pairs.

Revisiting this thread for some inspiration to wear my 666-21L’s more. Damn, Mike loved this denim so much. Wonderful memory to see how much joy they brought him. Wondering if some of you guys are still putting these in your rotation? @Daniel-San @endo @yannis
Would enjoy seeing how they are progressing if any of you find time.

bikini shape
sold my one , because I lost my shape too
BUT , I just grabbed a used pair 666 21L !
saw it on ebay and could not resist, remembering how Mike loved this denim and always been a little sad to sold my pair 634. -
Ha! That’s exactly my problem. My 666-21L’s are the slimmest IH jeans I own. I absolutely love the denim. And I’ve been working on some UHR’s too so haven’t given the 21L any wear
@Daniel-San nice score! Are they in good shape?
