IH-634-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
Probably not and definitely not the indigo/indigo. The 18oz version is a lot more rigid than the indigo/white version (probably because both the weft and the warp are dyed), so the 25oz would likely be impossible to weave and wear. The indigo/black is probably a little too specialist for me to convince Haraki to make.

I just acquired my first Iron Heart product, the mighty 634 XHS. Tried them on, put them in a very hot soak, hung them dry, and then felt compelled to do the stand-up stunt to kick things off.
After that I put them on (which took some doing, but my thumb is intact) and walked around the house for a bit. I already like them.
As regards denim, I have worn everything from STF Levis in the 70s and 80s to Naked & Famous and Levis 511 selvedges most recently, so this type and cut of jeans is a diversion from my norm. I generally prefer a fit similar to the Iron Heart 666s. I decided to try something different.
If it helps others who are new to Iron Heart, my XHSes got noticeably smaller in several dimensions after that hot soak. For me, that was a good thing.

Very cool!!! I am just waiting for Winter, snow and cold weather to wear my XHS with my Smoke Jumper

(Hi David and JCM–thanks very much.)
Today was the first day I actually wore my new jeans (they have had a hot soak). I decided to walk to and from work in them, about 6K each way.
The fit was generally as expected, and surprised me in just one detail. The waist was as I wanted it: Tight, but not especially challenging to button, and the seat and leg length and width were "as planned". At 31 x 34, I will neither cuff nor stack--the length is spot-on.
The surprising detail was the crotch fit--not much room there, gents!
Seeing the softness that wears into these jeans eventually (check out KrisB's photos) gives me confidence that the "crotchal" compression, compaction, and even sawing (there is simply no better word for it) will subside with time.
I changed out of them immediately upon arriving to work and again after arriving home. They now hang on a hook across the room, daring me to go "round two".
I'm up for the challenge. Will be back in the ring tomorrow morning.

If it wasn't for the lack of room in the crotch area, i would be wearing these much more often.
I have a similar experience in that everything about the fit is spot on other than the crotch area.
If i had a second chance with these, i would size up, only because I've discovered the benefits with sizing up with my 633's. -
Round two begins in earnest. I am confident that breaking these in with 12km of walking per weekday day will bring at least mild relief.
The crotch fit anomaly should probably be mentioned in "fit notes" somewhere, i.e., "If you are a male of at least average dimensions and want room where you need it, size up, brother!"
-
There was no round three.
I am putting these up for sale and going larger on this or something else in the Iron Heart line.
Iron Heart quality is obviously first-rate all around, but the jeans' proportions aren't compatible with my own. The fit in the waist, legs, seat, and all else is perfect, but there is simply zero gonad room. I was beginning to call these my Birth Control Jeans (BCJs), a reference to the abuse I was taking in that area. (I have two sons already so perhaps I shouldn't care, but life is too short for that kind of punishment!)
In summary, I am selling these 31x34 IH-634, if anyone is interested.
(Sir Giles, might it be possible to consign them at your shop? Thanks for considering it.)
Now–what Iron Heart model to replace them with? I am going to have to live with something that's at least a little too large everywhere else . . .

Useful info, Seul. Thanks.

Just checked out the 666-XHS, and it looks interesting. I begin to think I'd have to go 33 or 34 in those to avoid a repeat fit issue. I'm used to slim fits, but the legs are usually snug when that cut of jeans fit properly everywhere else.
I'm 73 inches tall, very lean (156lbs), with thick and very long legs (former athlete–guess which sport).
Most slim jeans that fit me are 31x34.
(I suppose I should move this discussion to the proper forum . . . )
