IH-666-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo

Ah, that's a good thing to know. I figured measurements were accurate, I was thinking more like they might have such super thick hems that the fabric bulk could add an extra .5" or so to the hem measurements. Requesting the smallest hem though might do the trick for getting the most tapered possible. Still just have to figure out whether I'd want 31 or 32 then… which is the perennial question with any pair of raws, of course.
Anyway, thanks!

Hi Guys. Can anyone provide some guidance on how much stretch can be achieved in the thigh? Am looking at tag 32 in the 666 XHS where the thigh measurement on website is 11.8. My true thigh is 12. In the past I've stretched jeans from 11.5 to 12 but I know this is a totally different ball game. Is this doable or am I kidding myself?

Giles gave me the same answer more or less on the 555 fit. I have chicken legs, so the 666 fit isn't quite tapered enough usually, at least how they measure on the site.
However, I saw Giles mention at one point that the Japanese cut was slightly different than the global cut, slightly shorter (not sure if it's the same pattern, just hemmed, or a different pattern). Regardless I checked the measurements on Rakuten, and sure enough, they were much more tapered. So I ordered a pair, size 31 with a waist measured about 31.75", hem about 8" or so, inseam about 35". Definitely a lot more tapered, and shouldn't require any extra hemming. Only reason I went through Japan was for the fit, FWIW.
They made it out for delivery in NY in literally 2 days. Jeeeeeze. I shipped them to work, which is closed for the weekend, so I won't get them until Monday, but it's summertime anyway. They'll keep for a couple of months. These are my first IH, and an awesome way to step up vs. my 18oz. Gonna be awesome.

I'll be interested in what they measure out at, they are the same jean…..

I got these last October, and they are my most favorite thing I own. I gave them 3 hot soak/dry cycles before I wore them. 5 months of hard wear(24/7), and a gentle machine 'hand wash' with almost no agitation about once a month now, with woolite. Thanks to Giles and the 'stubborn' crew for making my favorite article of clothing ever.

Yeah, I don't know where to send them to get them hemmed, and I worry about them getting messed up or lost in the mail. I bought a pair of IH-555-03s to wear for the summer, but I am still wearing the 25-666s.
Everyone talks about denim evolution as something that's more of a visual thing. But, with these I value the textural, and feeling quality to their evolution more than the visual aspects. These seem to get thicker and softer everyday. I honestly can't believe how silky and soft these things are now. I likened them to wearing sheet metal when I first put them on. Now they feel almost like a combination of suede and silk. The sheen of these almost looks like they are made from a synthetic material. I own 4 other pairs of Japanese selvedge denims, and none of them hold a candle to the texture and softness that these have.
They really are wonderful.
