Back from hemming. Went pretty snug with these!
-
I thought these were going to be too snug, but after three days of wear they’ve stretched nicely. I think I went too short on the inseam though. Will the hem opening drape better with time? They look wide and short. If not may have to list these for sale.
-
@bluemantra it all comes down to personal preference. And yes the XHS will become softer and will drape a bit better then they do now but also will take a bit more length because of the honeycombs and when the fully set in. For me personally this would be to short cause i like a bit more length for multiple reasons. What does your gut say? Cause in the end you need to wear them.
-
As I watched stock in my size dwindle I became weak and had to pull the trigger on a pair… decided to size down from my normal 34 to 33, think I made the right choice. They’re pretty spot on pre-soak, my plan is to wear them for a cpl wks to get some stretch then soak to bring the stretch back down. Will see how it goes but loving the fit so far.
-
@spleef_oner I think you'll be very happy with sizing down. Mine were pretty painful after first wash, but have since stretched to be comfortable and they're still loosening up. Looks like a solid fit to me.
-
@spleef_oner look awesome man!
-
I wore mine for 150 days and sent them to Rain at Indigo Proof for a "once over" and repairs -- $280. That hurt a bit.
-
@indigostiff damn!! What all did they do? Mild Blend in Chicago has always done me solid on repairs as far as quality of work and price , I have not had them do work on 25oz though.
-
@bluemantra good to hear they’re wearing in well and becoming comfortable, what did you decide as far as length goes? Going to hang onto them? I actually dig the look, especially w those boots, lookin sharp!
@Bailey thanks man!!
-
@spleef_oner they'll stretch back out in the waist to presoak measurements if you soak them before wearing. If you remove any remaining shrink first, you will not have fades shifting and will not lose any progress you started before soaking.
-
@Oaktavia yeah I’ve given the shifting fades some thought but I think a wk or two of wear will be minimal. My main concern is they’re pretty spot on now, but on the tighter side as I prefer a snug fit on my jeans, so if soak/wash now squeezing in may be brutal Figure just a bit of stretch first would make it more tolerable, they’re stretching pretty quick though so may just do another day or 2 of wear and soak them.
-
@spleef_oner Thank you. I think I'm going to give these a chance and see if the length will work. Mine fit pretty snug pre-soak and after the wash it was a real struggle to barely button them up. I was like oh I should've sized up, however, with 4-5 days wear they've stretched out and are just perfect. No belt needed. I think you nailed the fit.
-
@spleef_oner Small darn in the rear seat the size of a dime, rear pocket corner re-attach, darn on let leg wear-through, hem and pocket clean-up from keys wearing it -- at only 150 wears...
-
@indigostiff pricey repairs for sure , again though I’ve never had 25oz repaired before. I had self edge repair a pair of flatheads , they did large darns on both knees a, darn in the crotch area , replaced pocket bags, darned the top outer pocket area on one side , all for like 50 bucks . Mildblend did some darning on 3 spots on a different pair of flatheads and charged me about the same . Bummer on those repairs @ only 150 wears, did you soak/wash your xhs before wearing?
-
@spleef_oner Thank you for this. I did not soak before wearing.
-
@spleef_oner $50 is an insane deal for that amount of work done!
-
@indigostiff I think the self edge price was due to the fact that I bought the jeans there , mild blend just has decent repair pricing. So I’m wondering if the not soaking your xhs was in part to blame for the damage in such a short time, the denim maybe stayed stiffer due to starches making for more extreme abrasion/wear? Just a thought.

This is likely a contributing factor.
