Look good !! The denim is so black !! I have had to zoom in to see your fit.
I will say soak it as it will not damage the color.

Even though I had to cancel my order, these are still tempting. I really do like how black they are and making me wonder how much a regular wash cycle with hot water and agitation could help lose an inch.

I feel like the half inch your worried about will be solved by wearing a belt. I have jeans that range over an inch in the waist. Some fit snug, some need a belt. They all look good.

Mine arrived today, and I have to say this is some seriously gnarly denim. Put them on a for a few minutes and then threw them into the tub for a hot soak. Looked like there was an octopus in my pants the way the black dye was, literally, pouring out of them. Rolled them in a towel, and now they’re getting a wash, and then it’s off to the Shrinkmaster 9000. I was considering waiting for the 634s as I didn’t need another, super slim, pair of black jeans, and these fit me like 634s in the thighs,so mission accomplished. Stay tuned.

Interesting observation. Now this reminds me sbg. Sbg dye was pouring out like crazy. This means the denim has some great potential for gray fading .Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Last night after taking them out of the drier I decided to put them on to check them out, even though they were a little damp around the button hole area. I had stretched the holes jus enough to get them buttoned and went about my business. I haven’t remeasured but I don’t think they shrank at all. Anyway it’s now time for me to go to sleep,so I go to unbutton them, but as they dried the holes re-tightened up and there’s no way I can get them opened. Good thing I didn’t have to pee,or I’d have been in real trouble. Half hour and some bruised fingers later I got the top 2 buttons opened. I’ve been wearing them today and they feel like they may have stretched out a bit. Eventually I’ll get some pics up,but these look like 634s or even 888s on me as they’re quite baggy in the thighs and butt. The waist, thanks to Adam,is absolutely spot on. This is really the kind of fit I was looking for, since I’d like to be able to wear them on the bike. Just a note to anyone who’s been, previously, sacred off by the 555 thigh measurements, well fret no more.

I keep coming back to these, I might get them and do a regular wash cycle with another pair of raws. Could reduce some agitation but still help shrink them .

. Not sure how washing them with another pair of raws will reduce the agitation, which is what you need to get the shrinkage. I hot soaked, washed and dried mine and they didn’t shrink all that much if at all.I’ve been wearing them for a few days now and the actually feel as if they might have stretched a little. At the end of the day they are really comfortable which is pretty important to me. I got a tag size 36 with a 37.4 waist.

I thought I've read about marbling on these forums if they're run through a regular wash so my thinking is maybe another piece of clothing could limit that. Hot regular wash cycle. It could also just be me overthinking this because I'm spending 450$ on a pair of jeans.

I hot soaked mine in the tub first and the dye was literally running out of them, they were inside out. From there just threw them into the wash with a bunch of other black stuff. No marbling. I know it's crazy money to spend on denim/jeans,but,when you think about the cost per wear, they're not more than Levis. I've never bought anything from IH that I didn't consider 100% worth it. Every time I put them on I can't believe I have a pair of 25OZ black denim jeans, and it puts a smile on my face. Not everybody gets it.
