@setandsetting The Beacon is my absolute favorite venue to see music at. I’m sure you’ll have a blast.

Something I suggested @tody for it’s way back of an unsatisfied NOFX concert in Amsterdam this week.

@Jett129 Interesting. I've honestly never had great seats there so this will be a new experience. In 2000 I saw Lou Reed from literally the 2nd to last row in the highest balcony.

@setandsetting I’ve been very fortunate in that the company that my accountant is part of also happened to be the same company that handled The Allman Brothers, and every year he would hook me up,not for free, with tickets in the first 10 rows to see The Brothers at The Beacon.

@GraemeE The movie was called Times Square and it was supposed to be the rock n roll/punk/new wave answer to Saturday Night Fever. i t was produced by Robert Stigwood of Saturday Night Fever. It’s about 2 girls who meet in a psych ward at a hospital and run away together, eventually getting a band and playing a concert in Time Square. They decided to use real musicians to pretend to be actors instead of actors pretending to be musicians. I got cast as the drummer after someone saw me playing with my band Sorrows at Max’s Kansas City. Tim Currie was in the movie coming off his success in Rocky Horror. The movie tanked, but has since gotten somewhat of a cult following as it shows Times Square before it was cleaned up. The soundtrack was pretty cool as well.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are tearing it up with their next album from the sounds of it:
(For those that don’t know, KG&tLW have made something like 15 albums at this point in half that many years, ranging across genres. Seems they’ve decided it’s time for them to go heavy.)
