Gregory Isaacs doing Night Nurse in Jamaica in 1982
Burning Spear live in Paris in 1988, so majestic (notice the female horn section), a mystical experience

originally purchasing this cd at a tender age of 7 years old for the track "If I Ruled The World" it would take me a few years and some listen throughs to truly appreciate how amazing Nas was and still is. It Was Written, one of my favorite albums of all time.

Mrs. P, its because if number one crush was a song that reminded you of when you two first started dating, #1 Crush by Garbage is also like track 1 on the soundtrack to the movie. i just strung together the info and decided that this was highly likely… i too am a huge fan of that movie. hahhahaha and i think it was this version that really captured my attention when i was way younger (in a single digit age) because this R+J had guns, and guns are cool to play with at arcades on the video games! a little boy with a desire for destructive weapons = 90's influence. hehehehe, just kidding!
anyways, off of the soundtrack, my favorite song is probably...

I studied R&J at school, too many years ago. Agree, the Baz Luhrmann film version was incredible, using the original Shakespearean script, but so brilliantly putting everything into a contempary and cool setting. I'm gonna dig out the DVD and watch it again. Am a big fan of Dicaprio, and a HUGE fan of Radiohead, and Talk Show Host is one of their best!
Don't apologise for liking the guns, so did I - did you notice, in the film all the guns had names? Sorry, could go on for hours…! Listening to film soundtrack as I post...
p.s. another fave film of mine - WELL before your time, and nearly before mine - is West Side Story, based on R&J, have you seen it? Knock-out soundtrack, albeit a bit dated in places.

On that note, I guarantee 99% of you will hate this shit but I grew up as a little gromlet on this stuff. For those of you who know...
