634s-uhr on the cyclocross podium

finally, the temps in chicago are perfect for the ihj-114-blk. also day 39 of the ih-634s-uhr.

pulled the trigger on some 634s-uhr and i am beyond stoked on these!

the cuffs are huge, yes, but i dig the style. will likely get them hemmed at some point, but i love a big ol' rockabilly cuff.

since this forum was a huge help in finding the right fit for me, below are my pre and post soak/wash measurements done the IH way... (in inches with silly american fractions haha)

@VVV my wife and I saw them do a free show outdoor show a few blocks from our place at the Logan Square Monument in Chicago back in 2015. they played "into ruin" from miserable and stretched it way the f out. it was so good. we twisted up a few fat ones and got stupid high and they steamrolled right over us.

my first ironheart piece. purchased for a trip to finland a couple months ago from mildblend in chicago and couldn’t be more stoked on it. kinda ready for the temp to drop in chicago so i can pull this out of the closet!!! anyone else have one of these?

@Jeansman hell yeah, bet you’re stoked they are finally seeing some action. did you skip the initial soak/wash? i’ve heard its necessary with UHR so the fibers set. mine stretched back to pre-soak measurements in the waist pretty quickly and are legit perfect now. i haven’t done any wash besides the initial yet, but will likely sometime after day 60 or so. looking forward to seeing the fades!

@mclaincausey valtteri is great and a total ripper on the bike. i’ve gotten to ride with him and tiff a lot through work and they are both great people. got to kick it at his place in lahti when i first visited a couple years ago. honestly sometimes i think he enjoys cycling more than driving haha.

the mezcal rabbit hole is deep too if you like to nerd out. look up a spirit called “sotol,” it’s made similar to a mezcal but not with cactus in the part of mexico my family is from. sipped neat it is glorious.

chef’s knife from kamata hakensha, kappabashi tokyo. my wife bought this for me when we went to japan last fall. used daily in our kitchen!

FWIW, this is the fit. as I mentioned, it feels pretty good everywhere but the thigh is quite snug. bigger in the waist would be too big I feel.

@Mizmazzle I think your suggestion of 888 might be the right move for me. I'm also headlong into a training block for cyclocross season, so my thighs aren't getting any slimmer anytime soon haha.

@Graham I used to rehearse in the same building as Russian Circles and would frequently eavesdrop on rehearsals haha.

@Denimhead-0 hell yes! I have a lot of purple Paul stuff on my bikes. I’m a sucker for high quality machined components. Paul and White Industries bits can be found on every one of my bikes
