RE: Pocketknives/Kitchen Knives/Fixed Blades
Last year, we had a need for garden tools (seemingly along with the rest of the world). I came across Niwaki - who have an interesting backstory and my discovery of them coincided with a growing interest in Japanese denim etc.
We got ahold of some of their relatively inexpensive snips, which have proved to be very good. I was needing some cleaning/sharpening bits last week and in putting in an order to Niwaki took a chance on this little pocket knife:

It came today and despite being extremely simple it is a lovely, tactile little thing:
An unintended bonus is that in its sheath, it sits snugly in the buttoned pocket of a workshirt UHF and can be pulled out by it's tang or chikiri.

RE: Our Cars (dream or actual)
Morgan have a new version of their Three Wheeler in the works for next year. It's moving onto a Ford Fiesta engine from the old S&S V-Twin. Less rock and roll, but more power.
Autocar has a first look article.
I once went for a ride in an original, with the Matchless engine and hand throttle. At 30pmh you feel like you are travelling at warp-speed!

RE: Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?
UHF's in blackwatch tartan, but the navy is deep indigo…

A button-down collar chambray shirt with a single chest pocket would be great - and/or in some other fabrics that you already do.
Maybe not that Iron though.

RE: IH-777-SST - 21oz Shinayaka Selvedge Denim - Super Slim Tapered - Indigo
Just an initial impression of these, having bought a pair in the sale last week;
I bought a pair of 777S-21od in in September last year and have got on with them very well - they have taken regular wear until recently to fully break-in and be properly comfortable diving around after kids and sitting at my desk (and I've no doubt they are only just getting into their stride).
I bought the SST in virtually the same dimensions (though as has been mentioned above, technically a size up on the OD's). Straight out of the (paper) bag these are equally as comfy and I'm enjoying the stretch. Contrary to what others have written about the denim I find the stretch really quite noticeable. That's maybe just the 777 cut and where I'm needing them to stretch, though.
Like-for-like, the SST seems to be easier to just get in, and go.
I'm no purist, so the 2% inclusion doesn't bother me at all and it seems to sit well with the IH approach. It'll be interesting to see how successful the SST is and if it makes it to other denims. That said, there's hopefully some XHS/UHR in my future somewhere too, though!

RE: IH-666D - 17oz Duck Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Brown
@J88:
17oz Duck Dog Buff…
Brilliant. Although I can’t tell whether he is proud as punch or indignant [emoji1]
Whilst he spends most of his life generally being indignant, I think he was actually quite chuffed!

RE: IHSH-04 Heavy Flannel Western Shirt
Love the middle (beige/green/red) colour way… Damn being 10 years late to the party!
It looks very similar to my family tartan (I had these trews made up when I got married);

RE: Tricker's
Hope you don't mind a thread revival!
I've got a bit of a thing for Trickers boots…
777S-21od today with snuff repello Burford Superboots on the 4497s last. My favourites...

RE: Where does everyone live?
Hello IH folks!
I'm James and I live in north east Scotland.
My interests span photography, cars (old, new; anything that moves in fact!) and mechanical watches. I'm formerly an (extremely un-extreme) rock climber, mostly uncommitted mountain biker and enthusiastic but time-starved fly-fisherman.
I live and work in the countryside, between the rivers Dee and Don;
