I'm a sucker for greens. Here's a comparison between the recently released UHF 379.

RE: UES Clothing MFG .CO.
Anyone own their 14.5 oz indigo strip heavy flannel shirt?

RE: Merz beim Schwanen
I've been on the loopwheel bandwagon recently trying to get my hands on various brands to compare them. I recently contacted Merz B's customer service for clarity on their shirt weights based on their FAQ, copied below, so that I can compare to other brands.
"What does the weight in the product description mean?
Fabric weight is measured per m² of fabric. For example, with a weight of 200 grams (7,1oz) per m², this means that a 1 meter wide and 1 meter long piece of fabric weighs 200 grams (7,1oz). This is a good way to estimate wether the textile is lighter or heavier. "In short, I was told that their advertised grams are actually GSM and their ounces aren't accurate. They were going to make the revisions on their website.
Their advertised heaviest loopwheel is 11.21 oz vs 13.4, and their 214/215 t shirt that has been really popular from the tv show the bear is 7.2 oz vs 8.6. Doesn't change anything about the quality, though, and my recent acquisitions have been the first in my rotation since I got them.I'm curious if they will ditch the "world's heaviest loopwheel" marketing, though. I just got a 12.5 oz loopwheel from deluxeware which seems to take that title.
Examples in their reply:
"346 MEN'S LOOPWHEELED SWEATSHIRT > 340grams per square meter > 10,03 ounce per square yard214 MEN'S LOOPWHEELED T-SHIRT > 245grams per square meter > 7,22 ounce per square yard
2S14 MEN'S LOOPWHEELED T-SHIRT HEAVY > 380grams per square meter > 11,21 ounce per square yard"

RE: IHSH-07-IND - 12oz Hickory Stripe Western Shirt - Indigo
@JunkPants , thank you very much! Great info.
"Another difference is the fabric pattern. The SDA has quite wide stripes of equal width of indigo and white. On the IH the indigo stripes are wider than the white, at about 2:1 I'd say. This gives the overall effect that the IH appears darker than the SDA. You could perhaps say that the IH has a more understated, elegant look."
-- I totally see that in the photo comparison with SDA on the left and IH on the right.

@JunkPants , did you have a chance to open up your new studio d artisan shirt for a comparison?

RE: IHSH-07-IND - 12oz Hickory Stripe Western Shirt - Indigo
I'd like to buy a hickory shirt, and this seems like a great candidate; however, there's also the 8 oz one (IHSH-366-IND) coming out this fall for $315. Studio D'Artisan also offers a more budget friendly 14 oz (D5335H) across various retailers.
Does anyone have experience with Studio D'Artisan's version to compare? Any thoughts on this version vs the fall/winter IHSH-366-IND?

RE: Merz beim Schwanen
Delivery day. I've been diving into the world of loopwheel tees, including a used merz b from this forum, and have read enough good things here to go big on these shirts with their half off sale.
First impressions... The super heavy shirts are much softer out of the box than the iron heart 1600 and 1501. Substantial but comfortable while the iron hearts have to be broken in. These tend to hug the body a little more than the iron heart.
Perhaps fit pics another time...started but the mirror needs to be cleaned.

RE: IHTL-1501 - Extra Heavy Cotton Knit Crew Neck Sweater
oz per square yard, as opposed to grams per square meter.
now you do the mathif you want to cheat, here's a comparison chart, it's 373gsm:
https://fashion-incubator.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/gsm_to_oz_yd_2.pdfOk, so what you're saying is that the 11 ounces (311.8 grams) being advertised for this shirt is actually ounces per square yard rather than the weight one of square meter of fabric. The excerpt from the Merz B Schwanen FAQ copied below would indicate that an 11 oz fabric is 311.8 gsm which translates to 9.20 oz/square yard in your linked conversion chart as well as this calculator… https://www.ginifab.com/feeds/ozyd2_gm2/.
"What does the weight in the product description mean?
Fabric weight is measured per m² of fabric. For example, with a weight of 200 grams (7,1oz) per m², this means that a 1 meter wide and 1 meter long piece of fabric weighs 200 grams (7,1oz) "So, if it's 11 ounces per square yard, the shirt is 373 gsm (13.1 ounce fabric weight).
If it's 11 ounces in fabric weight, it's 311.8 gsm (9.2 ounces per square yard).Either way, I own and love the shirt…I'm just trying to compare the weight against other brands and have a point of reference.

RE: IHTL-1501 - Extra Heavy Cotton Knit Crew Neck Sweater
I often see other t shirts advertising their weight in terms of gsm. How much is this 11 oz shirt in terms of gsm, for comparison purposes.

RE: IHTL-1301 - Waffle Knit Long Sleeved Crew Neck Thermal Top - BLK, GRY or WHT
I received a new black and white yesterday and noticed some of my existing thermals we're shorter in sleeve and overall length by about 1.5 to 2 inches. I had been noticing they felt short, especially in recent wears.
Anyone with similar experience in shrinkage and getting them lengthened out again? Looks like the suggested method is soaking with conditioner in warm water for 30 minutes and gently stretching afterwards, so I'm going to give that a shot.

RE: IHSH-330-ODG - 9oz Raised Whipcord Western Shirt - Olive Drab Green
@crease, looks good. If you don't mind sharing, what are your measurements and what size did you get? Did you size up compared to your normal IH western?
-
RE: IHSH-330-ODG - 9oz Raised Whipcord Western Shirt - Olive Drab Green
EDIT: I’ll add that these appear to come up a little small. Olly is modeling an XL and he normally models L.
That's what is also confusing to me. I just pulled the measurements from the IHSH-335-BLK thread where it was just posted that Olly wears an L, but the 5 of 7 measurements for the Large UHF are less than this XL Whipcord shirt. Shoulder and Chest are a full 1 inch smaller on the UHF.
-
RE: IHSH-330-ODG - 9oz Raised Whipcord Western Shirt - Olive Drab Green
Will you be able to get any shrinkage out of this material with a hot wash and or hot dry similar to what you can typically get out of the UHFs?
Large is smaller in p2p and shoulders for almost every XL IH shirt I own, and I'm debating rolling the dice there or sizing up and hoping for shrinkage.

RE: IHSH-317-YEL - 9oz Selvedge Ombré Check Work Shirt - Yellow
Could not be happier with this shirt..the color and the fabric are above and beyond my expectations. The only other IH flannel I own is a UHF, and I was a bit concerned with how heavy these would be still at 9 oz, but it's a night and day difference in that it feels so much lighter. One surprise was the size of the buttons: they are smaller than I had been thinking, because I was comparing them to the IHSH 305 which is a much beefier shirt.
FYI, both this and the blue came in at 22.5 inches P2P for size XL: slightly less than the advertised measurements but a difference that works in my favor, fortunately.

What's the ideal weather for this fabric shirt?
