70 days of wear since the beginning of June. I also think it benefits the shirt to leave it untreated for as long as possible.

matt_rost's Leatherworks
Dear members of this forum!
I have been running a small leather workshop for some time and think it is about time to show a little more of "me". Having been a member here for a year and a half now (before that I read along for a few years without registering), I know that there is a friendly, open atmosphere of mutual support and that there is also a general interest in handmade leather goods.
I hope that this thread will also create a small space for feedback, where I can grow and continue to improve. Social media like Instagram is all well and good, but unfortunately such platforms ultimately do not really offer much for this purpose.
So, feel free to get involved, write me a message if a product arouses particular interest (pretty much everything is for sale, otherwise I will have space problems very soon) and if you like, you can just take a look
I would like to start with some of my Tote Bags in size Large:
For the (rugged) Ladies I made a size Small, too:

@Mister_Brue @olblue Your pieces are unbelievable! I have to live to be at least 100 years old to produce such fadings

@indigostiff Yeah, I saw your photos above and (from my personal point of view) didn't think it was too bad. But I understand that you wanted to do something about it. The main thing is that the cleaners did a good job and you are happy with the result. And who knows whether I might have to/want to take my shirt to the cleaners at some point!? At the moment for me it's not conceivable for my own shirt...

@matt_rost since the day I got it I've always worn it, it's a glove and I love it the only problem (but they told me that it will disappear with time and with wear are the micro fragments of leather that adhere tenaciously to the Duck part of my Vest, nothing serious brushing they go away). I hope it becomes like yours in some time, it's really wonderful congratulations my friend
Thank you very much Luigi I'm really happy for you that it fits so well and was a good purchase for you. I can only confirm the thing with the micro-fragments of leather. In my case, it took several months of wear to see any noticeable change with that. With the Big Buck, it was really extreme, but now the phenomenon has almost disappeared.

@Luijim78 I can't help but think, when I look at your photos, that the Pale Rider fits you best of all the shirts. Chest measurement, shoulder width, arm length... it looks like it was tailor-made for you

RE: Iron Heart X Simmons Bilt Horsehide Western Shirt - The Pale Rider - Natural
@indigostiff It's good that you have such an option available. I hope I'm spared any unsightly stains, but if something happens, I'll see it as part of the shirt's history.
At the moment I'm not sure whether I can leave the shirt untreated until the end of the rally, because the leather already looks quite dry in some areas. I've been able to successfully suppress these thoughts so far, but I'm already thinking about alternatives to Mustang Paste, for example. Does anyone here know about Saddle Butter from Ray Holes? Maybe worth considering... -

@FlavourFade I'm also quite happy with it considering that I hardly wore it for the first three months after starting the RR. Now I'm switching to my black Chore Coat from Black Sign to put on while it's still cool enough. That might give the signs of wear a little more depth.

RE: Redline Rally Y3
@Luijim78 Thanks Luigi! It will be used every day for the next 4-5 months. How does your shirt perform in the first few days?

7 month and until now still untreated...

RE: matt_rost's Leatherworks
@seawolf Thanks a lot for the tips! At the moment I'm still quite wary of making leather clothing purely by hand, but it sounds like it's doable. I'll probably start with a leather vest, that seems to be the most doable.
Thank you also for the links to your work, I'll look at it with great interest
