Month 5 submission: I spend too much time on my knees
I fear I will have to repair the knees before end of the year.... The right knee already starts to feel fuzzy -
RE: Indigo invitational Y4
@olblue Yeah, I love to see how the different "lifestyle" of people impacts the look of the jeans. Like you can clearly see if someone is riding a bike to work or spends a lot of time on the knees etc....
All of them will turn out magnificent though. I think it does not really matter what you do with them as long as you wear them constantly. -
RE: IH-888-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Indigo
Thanks @WhiskeySandwich and @neph93!
I really enjoy this forum! It's just a friendly an so helpful place!Maybe concerned was the wrong word. It just caught my eye that the cuff seam seems to be the first area to give up with this heavy fabric.

@drewfonse
Thank you! I did a initial wash and had to wash them about once a month. I have 2 kids (age 2 and 4) so incidents happen regularly
I wear them daily since 3 months now.
I'm also very happy with the progress. I'm a little concerned about the inner side of my cuffs though. I already rubbed through the seam on both sides. -

@drewfonse Looking good!! In my experience the shape only gets better with wear. They start to conform to your body and become very comfortable.
I really love the 888 cut with the higher rise in the back. They just stay where they should. While wearing them daily I don't notice it but when I have to change to another pair while the 888s are in the wash it really bothers me that i have to pull them up constantly. I never realised that before having my fist 888
Here's a picture of mine with about 3 months of continous wear:

Here's my March submission pictures!
Being a Dad to two boys (2 + 4 years old) I already had to wash 3 times. Worn every day minus the 3 half days of drying after washing.
I love the XHS!

RE: Indigo invitational Y4
I just submitted the January update:
So far I've worn them every day from getting up until going to bed and I'm really happy with them. They became very comfortable very quick. I really expected a longer break in period....

@Mizmazzle thanks mate! So far it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I started to question my decision after they stood by themselves after the wash
But they became somewhat soft after a few hours of wear. I really look forward to the next months now -

@gouki74 I had the same thoughts after receiving my 888 xhs. Stay strong for another 5 weeks

RE: Indigo invitational Y4
@denim-dawg Thats exactly what I plan to do. I will definitely not over-complicate it

RE: Belts
@WhiskeySandwich weird. Never worked with acrylic dye before. But isn't that essentially just paint and does not penetrate into the leather?
I have some experience with alcohol based dyes that really penetrate deep into the leather and even come out on the other side off the leather is 1mm or so.
The India ink I used in the belt above is water based and does not penetrate deep, but it penetrates at least the top layer. -
RE: Belts
Hey Guys,
I made myself a new belt. Leather is 3,5mm thick vegetable tanned cowhide that I dyed on the surface using India Ink. My hope is that I will get similar effects as "teacore" dyed leathers with wear.
Buckle is a brass hoof pick.
