IH-888S-SB Superblack Non-Fade 21oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut
I bought these 5 years ago, never measured them, but they seem to fit as snug as ever. I realize it could be argued that my waistline expanded, I’m 60 now, but it hasn’t happened with other IH denim fabrics. I wore them the last two evenings on my current bike trip and I can easily keep them in place without a belt.
So that is my experience.

Day three: Villazon - Bolivia to Cafayate - Argentina
Sits at 2800 mts and mornings are chilly around here.
Loved the backlit effect on these woolly alpacas; probably my favorite pic so far.
At 3800 mts, 9 am is still quite cold when moving at 100 km/hr. sitting still in the sun warmed me up in about 10 minutes.
A cloud forest between Jujuy and Salta. Now I’m back down to 700 mts. A super dry year is making this usually lush vegetation look quite beaten down.
Liked the monotone clay-colored backdrop with a bit of sky. Nearing wine country! Cafayate. -

Day two: Sucre to Villazon
The slit between the two ridges has a mid-size river flowing across.
This is the other, shaded side. The tunnel is less than 200 mts long. Place is called El Angosto, unsurprisingly…about 20 km km from Tupiza. -

RE: Motorcycles
Made some progress over the last few days.
Day one: home to Sucre:
Road blocked for half an hour as a car race crossed the road.
This bike is turning out out to be a fine traveler!
Houses used to be built of sun-dried mud blocks around here. -

@akohut I have only experience with one pair of 9634, and that feels like it's going nowhere in terms of stretch.
I fully concur with Tody’s info.

@Kasi I've only used it on my foot patrols which are British tan domain, and it worked fine. Not used on rough out though, @AdamC have you ever applied to your pair?
Excuse the topic drift guys.
I have 3 roughout boot/shoe and frequently wondered whether applying any ‘regular’ conditioner/restorer/humidifier product meant for smooth leathers would work similarly if applied to the inner side of roughout footwear. Don’t oils & greases penetrate leathers? -

Nah @Tobi , you’ll never regret caving in for the Untucked duck. Plus they only very infrequently make returns.

RE: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
@Aetas yep it is a Valmet. This baby is a 1986 model, goes by the 118 model denomination. Valmet produced them in Brazil, under some kind of arrangement between the Finnish company and the government. A buyout of sorts occured much, much later (maybe around the 2000s) and they are now sold under the Valtra brand name.
This guy works at my cattle ranch. It came to town for extensive maintenance work and is now headed back to ranch duty: digging water holes, cutting weeds, fixing farm roads, occasionally spraying weed-control herbicides and very infrequently plowing fields to be re-seeded with new grasses.
@endo you’d love it. They are surprisingly easy to drive (I just found out) and a ton of fun.
I have a second Valmet at the ranch, smaller one, a 88 model (so circa 90 hp). That one is mostly used to haul stuff (wood, wire, poles, and anything that needs moving around the ranch). -
RE: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
Yesterday I had to quickly (5 minute verbal explanation) learn how to drive an old agricultural tractor and load it on a transport truck. Exciting stuff for me!
Carefully and very slowly backing up
Had already reached the loading ramp…about 1.5 km from where the tractor was stored. Relief was all I felt.
Job done!!! Truck mostly transports bovines but agreed to split his cargo space with my tractor.LLBean flannel shirt, IH 634S 14 oz jeans and Scarpa sneakers.

I would love it if some of the 'duck' items were also available in grey (the jeans especially)......no idea if it's possible, but it would be fantastic
+1
Great idea @Darth-fader

RE: Motorcycles
@motojobobo - have you sorted your out V85 out yet?
@jimcasey still working on it. I’ve tried several things (spark plugs, injectors, cylinder compression, rearranging electronic connections, fuel system cleaner,…) and no change. Sent an audio/video to the tech guys at the dealership and they think that all is OK with the functioning on mine. Puzzling, but I’m going with their expert opinion. Hoping that once the first service rolls around, I’m now at 1100 km, the valve check and ECU flash will sort out that irregular heart beat.
These bikes run a bit hot and that isn’t ideal in my climate. I see you already made some changes to yours. Happy with yours? Interested to hear how things changed with the V-twin boost. Details on your impressions on the changes before/after on yours may be illuminating for my case.
I’m considering going for a full setup upgrade, from the headers to the exhaust. I’m wary about the sound, I want a cooler running bike with a linear acceleration curve, but I don’t enjoy noisy bikes. Not really crazy about increasing power. In general terms, I’m happy with the current power I get with it as is while riding it in SPORT mode.
Still working on the exhaust options. Difficult to judge how loud/obnoxious different exhausts are on the videos onlne because there is no ‘standardized’ noise recording protocol. Fortunately I’m able to still find the process interesting. -
RE: IRON HEART WAYWT - 2024 EDITION
@ARNC great work exploring different pairings for the duck bottoms. So far I’ve liked it best with the strong blue (lighter?) denim shirts. Luckily I have two of those candidates.
Keep them coming! -
RE: Cheer for P
This tree, alcornoque (Tabebuia aurea) is truly spectacular when in full bloom. Flowers only last between 3 and 8 days as it tends to be very windy this time of year.
Couldn’t possibly imagine a better parking spot for my Toyota FJ.
