1 1/2 years on the top vs 3 (plus a little change) on the bottom.

RE: IH-634S-B - 21oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Overdyed Indigo
I'm an out-and-out shorts guy in summer, but I recently got round to washing some denim and thought these were looking particularly pleasing to the eye. The OD OG just fades so nicely.

RE: IHM-33-OLV - Oiled Cotton M-65 Jacket - Olive
@ddtrash @SilverKast @Guzzidriver @blokewhistler @luxman @John Galt
Say… Anyone got a field report of how this jacket stood up to a pretty good drenching? I've been looking forwards to that new olive moleskin Type III since December, but now that it's nearly here I'm finding myself potentially swinging more towards this M-65 owing to its practicality for shoulder seasons in the Midwest.
Just wondering how practical it actually is in the rain. Hoping someone can chime in!

@RoxRocks86 Rockin'. Love how the OG OD fades. It may be a tortoise, but it wins the race.

Sparky says I am super late to this party, but sure, I'll play! Heading home after a(n unusually/) pleasantly uneventful 24 hours.

Cheers @RoxRocks86 & @jerkules !
Yeah, I love me some pins. Miiight be picking up that new olive moleskine Type III when it drops, so that'd be some more pin real estate to get working on

That brown colourway is fantastic. Like a comfy old wearable couch. I mean… In a good way.

Blues a-poppin'. I don't even know how you're supposed to accurately capture OD colours in a photo, but it doesn't stop me tryin' every now and then ^_^
(Taken last month, back when it was relaxing-on-a-bench-in-a-Type-III kinda weather.)

RE: Spring/Summer 2022 - What are your favourites?
1. Defo the olive moleskin Type III. All day long.
2 & 3. Probably the 634S-21ib and wabash work jackets. Pretty cool.I'm getting major Balmoral vibes from the IHV-43-OLV. Maybe there's more pheasants on the streets of Tokyo now than back in my day.

RE: IH-634S-SLB - 16oz Slubby Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
Thanks for sharing that information. "Slub" would have been my first guess. Such a cool looking patch…
Pleasure! Yeah, it's a cool one. I'd sooner it wasn't stitched on the sides, but as I understand it Haraki-san has a desperately strict 18.5oz dividing line policy to determine whether a belt is allowed to pass between leather and denim. I don't understand it, but there it is. Could always just cut away a few stitches I guess. And hey… At least he made some slub, right?! ^_^

RE: IH-634S-SLB - 16oz Slubby Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
Those fade photos are super cool…really wish I could have afforded the Pronto collab at the time of it's release. The patch on these has piqued my interest.
@Giles what does the Japanese translate to in English on the patch?
I'm not Giles, but happy to chime in with a translation. It's just "slub" written in katakana script. ス=su ラ=ra ブ= bu.
Edit: Katakana is the script usually used for writing foreign loan words. Unlike hiragana which is the script usually used for writing words of a native origin. And unlike kanji, which is the script usually used for driving students of Japanese insane over the course of countless hours.

RE: Is there a global sizing standard?
Sizing varies between geographies because peoples size and shape varies between geographies. In The Netherlands, the average male height is a tad over 6 feet and weight is 194lbs, in the USA 5' 8" and 200lbs, and in Japan 5' 6" and 155lbs
Body Mass Index (BMI)
Japan: 25.0
Netherlands: 25.6
USA: 30.4We win again, losers! USA!!! USA!!! USA!!!
Somewhat tangential, but I remember back when I lived in Japan I had to do an annual health check through my employer. The doctor gave me a summary at the end and said everything was just fine apart from my being overweight. I'm 5'10" and back then had a 30" waist. No idea what I weighed, but couldn't have been more than 165 lbs I'm guessin'.
I did not take him seriously.
