Fascinated to see stretch Iron Heart jeans- I quite like jeans with 2% stretchy fabric added, so I'd be curious to buy a pair. I won't be buying jeans or trousers with a high front rise again, though, so I may be in a for a looooooong wait. Pretty please make a pair of these with regular front rise, along with a bit more room in the thigh and knee to give us gym fanatics some mobility. I can barely reach my feet to put my shoes on in my 888s

It’s a struggle. Ive tried most of the cuts IH makes, at this point, and there are some trade-offs with some, while others just aren’t possible (777!). Sounds like 888 is your best option.
Have a peek at the 463. You’ll lose the taper, but this one is my absolute favorite for front/back rise ratio.

That pair do have the perfect front/rear rise ratio for me! Iron Heart can do it!
I wouldn't fit in the legs, though- they're tighter than the 888s. I just looked at the current 888 size listing, and they're very very close to perfect- a bit bigger than my pair on the thigh and knee. Just a shame about being 1.5 inches too high in the front rise.

@richardjohn22 ! Have you considered the 634's. I am 5' 11, 235 pounds ,with 28 inch thighs and the 634's work. I can wear tag 36 for more of a slim 666 look or tag 38 which is my TTS. Just a thought. Now if you want a more taper fit, i can see the issue. I can wear the 888's also but i have to size up.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'd have to go a few tag sizes up on the waist to fit my legs… tag 33 is the 35inch waist pair...
Too tight for me all around.
I do prefer taper on jeans- it's more an issue with bigger sizes- for shinny guys the opening isn't big. If a pair of Iron Heart jeans were perfect except the taper, I'd just pay to have them tapered…

Sounds to me like you might want to check out self edge’s 633.

I was excited when you offered me a recommendation… unfortunately those jeans are miles off being wearable for me. In my waist size, 35, (tag 34) rear rise and thigh measurements are both short by nearly 2 inches, and the knee measurement is smaller than on the 888s.
Of the Iron Heart jeans I've seen, the 1955S that I own fit my legs well, but I find the very high front rise combined with wide hips provides lots of excess material in the crotch which is extremely unflattering. They look good so long as a wear a shirt that covers the crotch. They're obviously intended to be worn higher than I can wear them- my huge arse from years of weightlifting and sport means the rear rise is lost covering that.

RE: IH-888S-21 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Indigo
I've grown out of mine again, sadly. The narrow knee measurement means they're too tight to move in freely when I add some muscle to my thighs. 6'1, 225lbs, 35" waist, own tag size 36. When my backside completely fills out the rear of these it also produces a weird crotch effect from the combo of the wide hip measurement and high front rise. I'm limited to baggy jeans or Levi's 541, and Levi's are only selling the inferior version of those jeans outside of America, for whatever reason.
I would absolutely love a more athletic version of these jeans, with a slightly wider thigh and some more knee width, and a regular front rise and hip. Pretty pleeeeeease.

Looks fantastic! Very very nice indeed. Great jacket if it fits. XXL would fit my chest but the 28.9 inch sleeve measurement scares me off, sadly.

RE: IH-888-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Ind/blk
These are sized exactly the same out of the box as the 888UHRs I own… which fit beautifully (aside from the weird extra fabric at the hip). Do these shrink much? Do I need more room considering the even thicker fabric? Can I justify the best part of $500 on a pair of jeans? ???

RE: IH-888-UHR - Indigo UHR 21/23oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut
Mine are coming along nicely, though I regretted the machine wash they got…
Owned them for a year, due to the hot weather in China I probably wore them for 4 full months of that. And I wore them after only a shower and fairly brief soak! (yes, I must be mad, these things were brutal!). Washed them at 30 in a front loading washing machine and got some weird fade marks that I can only think were caused by being rammed into the machine, sadly. Having taken them from stiffer than cardboard to wearable I kinda wish I dragged out the wear even longer.
Do you guys use even low spin on your jeans? Just take them out weighing about 20lbs with all the water still soaked in?
Oh, and do you fold your jeans when you wash them or just shove them in like regular clothing. My machine didn't like the low agitation setting and couldn't so much as even flip the beasts over... :o

Wow, those measurements are perfect in 36. Never have IH made anything more tailored to me

RE: Levi's
What the heck is going on with the construction of Levis? I've been buying 541s as a standard 'smart' looking jean for years- lightweight, tapered, relaxed thigh and ass- basically the only jeans I've ever found off the shelf that fit me perfectly. I bought all my old pairs around the UK, but this week I picked up 3 new pairs from Texas. The fit still works but the details REALLY changed, and they look so much cheaper now…
Hello crappy cardboard, goodbye pleather
Nicely cut, square pockets are no more
They've cut back on the stitching on belt loops
The inseam has changed. Overlock is out, and flat-felled is in.
Bar-tack moved down so the pocket isn't held tight and can catch now
Chain stitched hem is no more. Why?
Saving stitches again inside the fly.
Basically all the historic little details that separated the jeans from your run of the mill mall-jeans are gone. E.g. all the little features Iron Heart and other high end jeans manufacturers also pride themselves on observing are gone. Way to no longer differentiate yourselves, Levis…

RE: IH-634-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
I’m crossing my fingers for 888-XHS one day.
Just get these and taper? There's not that much difference. These have a tad less front rise but in my size they are otherwise the same…
-
RE: IH-634-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
I always liked the measurements here, but was put off by the very large leg opening (waist 36) and need to taper. I'd rather not have to screw around with jeans straight off the bat, but that might be what I do if I buy these next. I have the 888 UHRs now, so time to eye up the next thing

RE: IH-888-NT - 21/23oz indigo Selvedge DWC Jeans
2inches seems to be standard loss, then. So based on my existing jeans with higher rise (1955S) being 30.4 and a tad too long, and my jeans with lower rise (Levis 541) being 30.7 and perfect, I should aim for 30.5 I guess? Which means hemming to 32.5

RE: Repairs & Modifications
How big is the problem?
The hole appeared rather suddenly. The other faded areas around the crotch are also thinning quite considerably.
-
RE: IH-888-NT - 21/23oz indigo Selvedge DWC Jeans
Thanks for the reply @neph93 . Interesting that you lost the full 2 inches, from a 33.5" starting point. As I tend to wear boots predominantly now, a little extra rather than a little bit short seems to be the side to hedge my bets towards. Nice if you can wander around the house without treading on the hem or needing to cuff, though.

RE: IH-888-NT - 21/23oz indigo Selvedge DWC Jeans
I'm giving in, and buying some 888 UHRs… I'm 6'1 with relatively short legs, and need some help deciding what length to hem the 888s to.
1955S measure: 30.4 inseam, 42.25 total length
Levi's 541's measure: 30.7 inseam, 41.5 total length. The Levi's length is perfect, while the 1955S could lose half an inch (despite being shorter in inseam, they make up for it with front rise).
It looks like these 888's should lose 1 or 2 inches when machine washed.
Recommendations? Cheers!!
Edit: I'll be wanting to wear these without a turn up, after they have shrunk. The 1955S I have do have a turn up, and the measurement above doesn't take that extra fabric into consideration.

RE: Repairs & Modifications
Who do you guys recommend for a properly blended darning style crotch repair in the UK? (Or China/Hong Kong for that matter, I'm back and forth)
I've always been disappointed with previous jeans crotch repairs, and wouldn't want that with my lovely IH jeans. Cheers!

RE: Arm length - Ultra Heavy Flannels (UHFs)
Is that for all shirts, even for the Asian market? I suppose if cuffs are quite tight some excess there is tolerable. And indeed, lengthening isn't an option.
-
RE: Arm length - Ultra Heavy Flannels (UHFs)
Was there ever an update on future arm lengths?
I tried on a couple of these shirts from Iron Heart today and had to go XXL to fit my chest, but was left with sleeves that were a couple of inches too long (usually wear 25.5 sleeves with 17 inch collar fitted shirts). The body was also pretty long. Obviously designed for tall, slender men. It seemed odd in a shop in Asia, where tall men with very long arms are few and far between. Being a stocky 6'1 I'm also not a norm around here
I'd be all over a couple of these shirts if they fit, the material and construction seemed to be perfect
