@Alex I bought it from Iron Hear America right before the holidays.

Increasing the button sizes might help a but but ultimately the button holes will stretch out due the nature of fabric.
They oughta reinforce the button placket to minimize stretching.

The button issue is present in all of the lightweight Iron Heart button up shirts I own. Either the button size needs to increase or the hole needs to be smaller. Definitely a big bummer considering the price.

Yeah I agree, for that price this should not be an issue, especially not from a brand like Iron Heart that has a reputation of making sturdy over engineered garments.

Pretty major bummer to be honest.

Picked up one of these over the holidays for the hot California weather.
The shirt is bittersweet for me - the fabric and fit is great but the button placket is a major disappointment.
Wether it is due to the linen or the size of the buttonholes, the buttons just won't stay in place.
The holes become loose after a day and the shirt won't stay buttoned. 
Never had this issue with any of my IH shirts.
If the button placket were thicker or reinforced this wouldn't happen as far as I can tell.

Without a doubt one of my fav caps in my collection. They only get better with wear!

I wear a small in the heavy ballpark crewneck and heavy Ballpark zipup and small in IH heavy flannels. I ordered my usual small in this one. Will see how it turns out when it arrives.

So would you suggest I wear XL then? I remember my IH sweatshirt always felt too big in XL but then again it wasn't double faced….

Imo not as heavy as SG ones, but difference is not huge …

I have both and must say that SG feels way heavier and the neck is way better IMO

When I was 16. Fell off in the middle of class (High School). Headed straight to the corner store at lunch and bought a pack.

In other news, I am fully back smoking. Shitty. Still determined to quit, just not sure when it will happen.

smoke that pack(if you havent already) and try again. and try those nicotine patches again but this put some extra gorilla tape over it so it doesnt fall off;)

man i feel your pain i just quit smoking cold turkey and it has been 6 days now.i am loosing my damn mind but it seems to be getting a little easier.been a heavy smoker for about 12 years now and boy it sure is hard to quit.
the worst is waking up fighting the urge to have a cigarette with your morning coffee.
the good thing is my nose isn`t constantly clogged and i sleep way better!

yup, no go for me…head/neck opening too big. Shame, this looks wery nice.

i agree with you the neck opening is rather big and i`d prefer it way smaller.otherwise the sweater is as flawless as possible

just ordered a xl myself lets hope it`s not too big;)
