RE: Oak Street Bootmakers
Im over it. I hope that those who spent $$$ on the nicer boots OSB offers get better after sales service than this. In the big picture, this is a minor annoyance but its enough to make me reconsider doing business with them ever again.

RE: Oak Street Bootmakers
Its kind of hard to see, as this is an iPhone pic, but the fake welt was re-glued, and it is not flush with the midsole or out sole. Its just a poor attempt at re-gluing, and I could probably have done a better job at home or had it done locally.

RE: Oak Street Bootmakers
So, just saw this today. Sent an email to OSB to see what the deal is with a repair, but if all they are is glued, I could have it done locally. Am I understanding this right, or
just being a dick? A welt that is glued, not stitched, decorative outer stitching that is not sewn through all the way? These are trail oxfords, about 2 or 3 years old.
Sorry about the rotated image.Received the repaired shoes back. Got to say, they did not do a convincing job. Missed one side where the fake welt was coming undone, and did a sloppy job on the obvious portion that needed repair (posted in the pic above. I might get around to posting some pics at some point, and will edit this post with the if people think it would be beneficial. At this point OSB are off my radar.

RE: Oak Street Bootmakers
they offered to fix free of charge, which is very nice of them. However, Im still baffled about the glued welt and fake stitching. Tony skipped that in our exchange. I'll send them in to get fixed, but Im seriously let down that beneath the surface there are some serious corners being cut. Someone please correct me if Im wrong, but shouldnt the welt be stitched down, and then sewn to the part where the sole is glued?

RE: Luggage Bags and Packs
SpaceGnome, I've been tracking it since I first brought it up, GORUCK's manufacturing issues seem to have been resolved around march/april this year.
good to hear!

RE: Luggage Bags and Packs
Im not a fan of all that mollee webbing all over the duffel. I mean, how modular does a duffel need to be. I get it on back packs. Hope your GoRuck isnt a dud.
why would the goruck be a dud. Their products are the IH of the tactical backpack world
"Obstacles are stepping-stones That guide us to our goals"
read a few pages back.. I guess quality went south when they started outsourcing. Im not sure if that was resolved yet.

Yep, the foam and padded dividers just slide out. This style hard case is pretty standard for all my Pro photographer buddies when traveling. I finally got one.
I checked out the Rimowa's the other day. Sure, they're nice but there's no reason for me to have one right now. Maybe if I need a huge suitcase one day I'll get a 32" but I highly doubt it.
how has the SBK been? I just bought a Pelican 1514 for my camera stuff, and remembered this case as well. I think the pelican is a bit smaller, at this point that is ok by me.
