I don't know - while I don't lead the most active life, I'm finding these fades are slow-going on the butt, where I normally get some pocket fading with a day or two (I spend a LOT of time sitting down). Hoping the 30 amnesty wears serves me well before DWC officially starts!

RE: Self Edge x Iron Heart = SEXIH22-301s
@private:
30 waist, 11.3 thigh, not sure what the front rise is . Someone suggest a pair with similar leg opening but a realistic amount of thigh room.
I am shocked that people need more thigh room - I gotta hit the gym or something! I sized down AND had RCFG re-taper it for me (I know, I know - blasphemy - I'm sorry!) Different strokes for different folk, I guess. (Fortunately, with the size-down, there is now an appropriate amount of room in the crotch) - a problem when I had the 30 on.

Sexih22 or 666uhr good looking fabric
The SExIH22 is a great denim - the gray weft adds a really unique color to the indigo that's unlike any of IH's jeans.

In defense of the 301 cut, the guy at SENY help point out a lot of issues that were accentuating the excess room in my pics:
1) The denim was very stiff in the leg, effectively propping up the crotch area from the thighs. That would definitely improve as the denim settles.
2) The way in which I dried the denim after soaking (i.e. I didn't flat dry it front-to-back, rather on its side because I didn't want any creases to form at the inseam/outseam) made it so that the top block was oval-shaped when you look at it from above: crotch/butt were jutting out excessively (i.e. not touching my body) whereas the sides were flush against the sides of my thighs. That would also change as the denim settles.
3) Finally, I had a full inch of waist room post-soak - so the entire jean could have been smaller.Consequently, I think the 301 cut is great at Size 30 (I can't speak about the 33 or the 36 that UrbanWoodsman mentioned); I just need a smaller size. As soon as this one sells, I will be getting a Size 29 in the 301 cut for sure.

RE: Self Edge x Iron Heart = SEXIH22-301s
Thanks for the votes of confidence. I dropped by Self Edge today to model the denim (seeing it in real life is better than pictures), and the gang concluded that I could definitely size down one. So off to the market they go. If anyone's interested:

RE: Self Edge x Iron Heart = SEXIH22-301s
ok. i need opinions about the fit of these - I'm a little concerned.
my main concern is the upper thigh. I suspect it's all bunchy in the crotch right now due to how stiff the denim is at the moment - and hopefully as the legs settle, gravity will pull it down some so it's not so bulbous (i.e. so it won't look like I'm stuffing). What do you guys think?
i'm also torn between cuff vs. not and stacks vs. not …
I'm pretty short (5' 8", 125lbs), so I'm not sure cuffs will help out my lack of height - just accent how short I am. (It's sad because then people won't see the cool gray weft). In the past, I've cuffed, but with black weft, so it's hard for most people to notice. As for stacks, I have 5" of hem turned inwards to get an idea of what it might look like if I got them hemmed at that length with minimal stacking. Whadya guys think? Add another inch or two of hem? -

surprisingly little actually! i got a single ring around the tub, but the water looked barely bluer than when i started. and the denim's still VERY dark.

How much soak so you recommend for these? I've never had such a rigid denim post-soak before - cant tell if it's because of the denim weight (my pevious pairs have all been 15-16oz) or because of the loomstate? so far its done 60min in tub with a few minutes of gentle agitation (as hot as my apt water gets - I can keep my hand in it for a short period of time). I then drained half the tub and replaced it with more hot water to soak for another 30 min. Enough of a first soak?
Thanks for your help!!
