It's nice, but I keep seeing the German flag if I stare too long. Am I off base here?

Hopefully they make some 38s soon. I tried to fit into a 36 but they were too tight in the legs

@Filthy:
I see my life improving exponentially with these in them.
TBH I get mocked a lot for wearing them. Like, a girl once asked me, "what train did you jump off of?" And I responded, "the same one that ran over your face" and I was at a Steeler game in the club box and the bartender refused to believe me that I was on the company tab. But if you don't care what people think, you will certainly enjoy them. [emoji1]
Hahaha Well I’ll probably get that question being in NYC… but I’m stoked they’re coming tomorrow. Can’t wait to post some fit pics

@tfahey00 I'd say you'd be good with a 36. But I guess that depends on how you want them to fit. I've had 36 and 38 and I am pretty chubby and have massive legs.
Plus you'll be waiting until next year if you wanted a 38 because both 38 pairs sold. Unless G can get you a pair from Japan. They only seem to come in stock once a year.
Yeah that’s what I was expecting… I am a little chubby but the top block was always my main concern because I too have big legs... because, as you know, one may NOT skip leg day [emoji23]

I’ve seen recommendations to size up… I’m a 36 in the 888... should I look at 38 or would 36 be safe?

Everywhere that is put under pressure will stretch back to where it was, more or less, including the thigh.
The issue with crotches tightening after repairs is quite normal. The worn, stretched, fabric from before had been replaced by new yarn and the torque of the material is increased. Repairs will also take up more room in that area, adding to the feeling. These things will abate, to a degree, but my IH-666-XHS have had the crotch repaired many times now, mostly by my own hands and I use darning and patches, so now the area is very thick and stiff (sorry for the unavoidable puns).
I almost couldn’t button them initially and I had an “oh s**t” moment because I really love the fades so far… thankfully you’re right, it’s getting easier. Same with walking, since they were so stiff in the crotch area, having to literally grab my ankle and pulling my leg up to my knee to put on shoes. I’m more worried about damaging the area just outside of the repair area since the repaired section is so thick comparatively. Easing into it lol [emoji13]

I just got my XHSibs back this past week from repairs. Wow. I forgot how tight and heavy they are after wearing my 21s while waiting. It feels like the repair tightened and shrunk up the top block a lot more than before… painful couple weeks ahead stretching them out and loosening up the rough and hard darning in the repair areas. [emoji30]
Anyone else have this experience?

Did anyone ever recommend a travel coffee mug? I’d love one for the train ride to work

Cross-post… 888-XHSib
@Max Power: nice WITTR shirt

You could also throw them in the tub full of water as hot as it goes… should do the trick

7th week in. Here’s a kinda dark pic of the fades so far while wearing them, plus one of the cuff since there was some inquiries about how they look/ how people do it. I’m no master, but they sit great on some Red Wings.
Again I’m no pro, but I left an extra inch when I got them hemmed. They got their first wash (delicate cycle in a machine) at 6 weeks, and there wasn’t a whole lot shrinkage in the length.

Dude,If you held a gun to my head and told me to eat beets I’d tell you to pull the trigger.
Bummer man… beets are one of my most favorite things. That and pickles and fermented stuff like kimchi. Absolutely love all that stuff

Bob and the lady (not pictured) and I at the park on a beautiful day last weekend. Wearing my new 888-XHSibs. They’re a bear in the summer but they’re surprisingly cool. I guess they’re so thick the sunshine can’t heat them up
@Alex, will there be samples for sale at the meetup?
