Cheers!
@Max:
Thanks to all who adviced me on White's, but I decided to get these. Black Wax Flesh is so awesome…
Thanks to Vater & Sohn and Sascha for making them.
Hey, curious how these have worn in. Any new pics..? Thanks!
I am sure some of you guys are aware, but for anyone who's not, there is a GMTO underway over on the Styleforum Viberg board. (Assume it's okay to post this here..? If not, feel free to take down.) The main build being discussed is the "Millwright Boot." It will look like this pic, but with lighter "Crust" cxl (tanned, but not dyed or finished, so fairly matte in apearance).
OP, if you are still here… any update on how these look after a couple of years of wear..?
Giles, I know your MIJ Flat Head boots are nice and all, but America would like to raise it's collective middle finger

Whites Bounty Hunter roughout showed up. I'm so hooked on the way their 10E fits, I don't know if I'll ever buy anything else.
Beauties! What size do you wear in other boots?
@AndyO, any chance you could do a top down shot of the Swing last? They look good..
Boots look great. They blue?
Any particular reason u left in the kiltie but cut the frayed end off?
Thanks. They are black CXL – they do look a little bluish in the pic, but less so in real life.
I liked the way the tongue protectors made them fit around the instep, but didn't like the kiltie part so I cut them off with a pair of scissors! I also cut back some of the bellows tongue on each side so that they are now essentially semi-attached as an SD would be. It solved my ankle rubbing problems immediately and made the boots so much more pleasant to wear...
My trench boots after a resole. Got these about a year ago, or longer I guess, and they came with the flat leather sole, which I was never wild about. So even though they still had some life in them, I decided to get them resoled with Danite soles and heels. Work was done by OSB, and it seems very well done to me.
I'm really starting to warm up to the lace-to-toe style, something is never had considered a year ago.
And I'm starting to like the look of the Cuban heel… what's happening to me!
I am still totally on board with the straight heel. I understand the functionality of the Cuban, but it will always look weird to me…
i was able to get #29 - derby shoe, size 9, dainite sole and heel in color 8 shell cordovan leather @Hereforthebeer
Just one of the many reasons why Rafa is my hero..
Those prices are ridiculous, I'm hoping that's not indiciative of future viberg. I'm only going to get my sizing on lock…
Yeah, it was one thing to charge that for shell boots – the fashion guys are used to paying that. But for any regular folks, it's getting out of hand for non-shell boots to be this expensive..
@trail:
Some great great boots here (obviously). But several of them show what is to my mind one of Viberg's main flaws: the boot often have a built in "pronation" or inward lean. I've seen this not infrequently, including on a pair I had. Not a good think for those of us that need a little arch support. And it just makes the boots look off-kilter a but.
As requested by @tod and @Giles - a foot selfie of Big Wanda.
The leather will look great with a bit more wear. I've only had these for a month or so, but they're developing character.
Cheers.
Anyone have pics of these shoes with some harder wear on them…?
