RE: Introduce Yourself Here
Greetings, Iron Heart Forum!
Some of you might remember me from several years ago when I used to be an active member of this vibrant online community. However, life took me on an exciting journey, and I haven't had the opportunity to participate here in quite some time. So, I thought it was about time to reintroduce myself and reconnect with all of you wonderful folks.
Life has been a whirlwind for me since my last post. After the birth of my second child, Remi, life became a delightful blend of chaos and joy. Oh, and there was this thing called Covid. Kinda weird and strange times. To add to the mix, I embarked on a new career journey, securing a tenured professorship in creative writing and literature at Los Angeles City College. I've been there since 2016, but things were finalized just before the pandemic hit. It's been an incredible experience, and I'm passionate about nurturing the next generation of writers, literary enthusiasts, and AI chatbots.
In addition to my professional endeavors, my personal life has also seen significant changes. My lovely wife, who some of you may remember, has transitioned into the role of a doula, supporting expectant mothers on their journey to parenthood. You can learn more about her work on her website: https://www.doulabrandi.com/
Of course, the most important aspect of my life remains my family. My two children, Ruby, now 8, and Remi, who just turned 4, are growing up fast, and being a parent has been a truly rewarding experience.
Recently, I've picked up a new hobby that I'm passionate about—disc golfing. If any of you share this interest, it might be fun to create a dedicated subforum here on the Iron Heart Forum to discuss all things disc golf-related. If such a subforum doesn't already exist, maybe we can start one together!
I'm genuinely excited to be back and look forward to engaging in meaningful conversations with all of you once again. It's been too long, and I can't wait to catch up and share experiences. Feel free to drop me a message or reach out anytime.
Until then, TTFN

RE: John Lofgren (Speedway)
Nothing yet, @Daniel San I use Bick 4 on my other boots. Probably will do the same.

RE: John Lofgren (Speedway)
@Daniel San once they break in, they will fit like a glove. I’ve worn these a lot this winter and they look great. They seem to “age” slowly. I get so many compliments on them.

RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer
@setandsetting, they will not, unfortunately. Try Lost & Found or Standard & Strange. Both can special order from their site.

@Giles Ah, my friend has that exact grill! He loves it.

For those of you who like to make yakitori, what is your grill of choice? I've heard good things about this one: https://www.korin.com/KON-109-35-46
Any strong opinions on the matter?

Thanks all. Man. I need to post on her more. I forget how nice it is talking denim and leather.

RE: Iron Heart X Simmons Bilt Horsehide Western Shirt - The Pale Rider - Natural
@Oaktavia I've used his method on horsehide, too. I have this jacket from S & S, which is also made by Simmons Bilt using the same (presumably) leather as your jacket and this jacket. (LINK:https://standardandstrange.com/collections/simmons-bilt/products/s-s-x-simmons-bilt-vanishing-point-horsehide-leather-jacket). I've had some good results, but, with the Los Angeles sun, I have to be careful to not "over tan." I've found that taking it slow is the way to go. Here's a pic of me wearing it on my 40th last week.

RE: IHSB-EXT-NAT - Iron Heart x Simmons Bilt Natural Horsehide Type III Jacket
@Oaktavia I have a jacket made with this same leather. I used his method and have had good results: http://vintageengineerboots.blogspot.com/2021/12/the-randall-jacket-by-mister-freedom.html

RE: Mister Freedom
For some reason, the type 2 is the only style jacket I can wear without side pockets. The only issue with the campus jacket is that the pockets are not really functional.

RE: Mister Freedom
@theorocks it was always form fitting. I think it’s just the unbuttoned vs buttoned look.

RE: Mister Freedom
Hello all,
It has been a long time. I hope all is well. Anyway, I thought I'd post some pictures of my new "project." Worn it every day since I've gotten it. The one day I didn't wear it, I set it out to "tan." Somehow it fell down on my gravel, got wet, then developed these nasty little marks in the leather. With wear, they faded slightly to the point where you cannot notice them. The only reason I mention this is that it changed my perspective on the jacket. If I had the nasty marks in the leather, why not wear it hard? Well, now it's blue from my jeans in places, black from working on things around the house, and I think there's even some ice cream from my kids. Okay, okay. That's from me, too.
You may be wondering about the jacket itself. You might have seen me in my campus jacket. I love that jacket. It's my first choice for "date night" jackets. It is, however, a tad short; it is also a little snug when buttoned. That's more of a me issue, of course. This is jacket is also a 44 but is much roomier. The published messurements have it a 25 inches p2p, but mine is 24 right on the dot. One of the other cool aspects is the "branding." No, I don't mean the cool little flourishes that Mister Freedom does in their store or when shipping their products, I mean the actual "brand" that was on the horse. On mine, you can see an 8 and a 6. If you've even been intrigued by MF's leathers before, I'd have to say this rivals the campus, perhaps even beats it. Let me know if you'd like to see more pictures in the future. Also, I have gotten this bad boy wet when cleaning up the markings I described above, but I have not but any Pecards on it yet. Trying to wait until it really needs it.
Cheers!

RE: IH-816 - 17oz Duck Work Pants
Does anyone know when there will be a restock on these?
