@Fadez I haven’t talked to my buddy this week but I believe Joe Walsh is in the process of buying it. I’ll ask him the next time I talk to him, I’ll probably see him next week.

@JunkPants yeah a respected vintage guitar dealer is brokering the sale so it’s legit. Vince Gill is also in the mix now, I’m curious to see who ends up with it.

@popvulture I have pics but I’m sworn to keeping them to myself right now. It is literally mint. No fading. No finish checking! The guitar looks new, the case looks new, every hang tag is in the case and they all look new. It has the original strap that looks new. Completely bonkers.

Since I don’t belong to a Les Paul forum, I’ll post this tidbit here because I’m dying to tell someone. A little birdie has told me that a dead mint, practically unplayed, one-owner 1959 burst has just surfaced. Not documented in any of the Burst books, this is one of those that was unaccounted for that everyone fantasized about maybe still being out there somewhere in somebody’s closet. Mint case and hang tags even. Absolutely flawless. Keep an eye on Slash, Joe Walsh, and Joe Bonamassa, one of them is about to add this guitar to their collection for a measley $600,000. I’m sure there will be a few magazine articles coming out in the near future about it once the dust settles.

@Jett129 just straight up loud-ass rock and roll, as it should be.

Anyone who hasn’t tried an Eastman guitar is missing out on probably the best Gibson-style guitars for the money on the market. Near-custom-shop quality for less than a standard USA model. Just picked this one up and I’m beside myself at how killer of a guitar it is.

These three get the most attention these days but I have a few heavily modded Gretsch Electromatics and a couple PRS CE-22’s as well.

Been waiting for these for literally years at this point and due to a recent job change I’m currently broke.

Text is very jittery under my thumb when scrolling and trying to read. Very annoying to lose my place and refind it constantly.

Also 2 bars at the top and 1 at the bottom constantly moving is also very annoying.

The jittery text is really a deal breaker as I feel it's migraine inducing as well as extremely frustrating.

It's like trying to read with 3 strobe lights in your face and the book is moving.

Yeah this is driving me crazy too. I’ve never been a fan of “infinite scroll” forums for this reason. I think having everything organized into pages is much more streamlined.

Also is there a night mode option?

Is there any way to collapse topic categories on the home page? I was able to do that on the old forum but I don’t see a way to do it now.

Damn @neph93 you’ll be missed while you’re away, I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and send positive vibes your way. Mental health problems are no joke, I know plenty of people who have suffered from this illness and I know how tough it can be. You’re well loved around here Rueben, and for good reason. You’re a great dude and a great ambassador for this forum and the IH brand. I’m glad you’re lucky enough to have a health care system that covers this illness. I wish you well and look forward to your return, the forum won’t be the same without you. ️

There’s a new Superblack Selvage in the works that I’ve been waiting for for at least two years. It’s finally in production so fingers crossed that it won’t be much longer.

Also recently, after having an extra PRS CE-22 neck without a matching body with virtually no hope of ever finding one, I stumbled across one on Reverb. A buddy of mine who I record with chipped in on it and after much consideration we decided to remove all the finish and do a fresh stain on the top and then gave it several super thin coats of tru-oil(?). Here’s the result:

So I had a spare set of pickups that I really love the sound of lying around for the last few years and I couldn’t bring myself to sell and that was obviously a ticking time bomb. Simultaneously I had fallen hard for my Vela that I bought a bit over a year ago and kept eyeing the satin black version with a lustful eye. So finally the inevitable happened.

I’m glad it did, even though I couldn’t rationally justify it at the time. This may be the best guitar I’ve ever owned. Even more so than my other Vela which is a wonderful guitar. Not to mention my other Tele and my PRS CE-22. All great guitars. But this one is just… absolutely magical. It’s so alive acoustically and plugged in that it feels like it wants to jump out of my hands and go on a rampage. Plus with my cosmetic upgrades (and the pickup swap) it’s just damn sexy. And slim ‘n trim at 6.2 lbs. I’m not really a PRS guy these days, but the Vela is a killer.
