Mental Policies
-
I would think that mental policies are things that you do for some philosophical/internal reason whereas things that others do that annoy you are pet peeves, maybe Paul9221/gbougard can clarify this. I have a mental policy of not getting annoyed by minor things – life is too short and the universe is oblivious.

oh & shoes outside of their boxes. there are shoe boxes for a reason
are you saying shoe boxes exist for the purpose of storage of shoes after they are purchased?

After reading these I feel normal here.
Left side of the bed, absolutely, toilet paper from top, household paper, (is that correct term?) always from the left side when the roll is upwards, never ever squeeze the toothpaste in the middle, and hell yeah, gives me creeps when I'm late, even for 5 min. maybe some more, but these I can think right now.

Me too… That's saying quite a lot...
I would, however, pay good money to see Lucifer come charging out of a bus

HaHAhahahEha
i wondered why you wrote down all those facts about me when we meet.
-
i find it hard to sit down anywhere when i am not aware of exists or facing the door to see who is coming in the joint. it's so ingrained in me that someone had to actually tell me about my always doing it before i realized it & wrote it here.

Like any successful Don. I would too if I were you. You never know when someone may come for your jawnz.

Another sleep one from me. I have to read something before I can sleep, I always have 2 or 3 books or comics on the go at once, doesn't matter where I am, what time it is, or how drunk I am, I have to read just a couple of pages before sleeping.
-
ahh…MM, more similarities, I always also try to sit so that nobody gets behind my back without me noticing, ie, back against wall. And in a bus or another public transport, always last row of seats if possible, on the right side.
When I go to a bar or so, I always také a look around people who are there, to spot possible troublemakers and I note where and how they sit. So I will know where the trouble is likely to come.
This once led me to rescue a drunken idiot, a whale for a woman from drowning herself at local lakeside. She really tried to drown herself, afterwards I thought that I should have let her do it. -
Ok….so there might be a list, so bare with me,
cant leave the house without checking all plugs are switched off (have been known to take photos before)
I take my hair straighteners to work and breakfast when on holiday
Taps - do not like the water to over run when filling the washing up bowl
Have to check taps before leaving the house
I check all doors at least 3 times before I leave the house
I click my lock button on the car constantly until I am too far out of range to make sure it is locked
I'll only sleep on rightNow I know you all thinking at this moment I maybe in fact be clinically mental...but fear not I have a back up plan and it works wonders as I can automatically reduce this list. It's call 'Mega' he has a little 'mini' routine otherwise we would never leave the house!

I simply follow you around, correcting your lunacy.
-
sure there are more, but saving the true extent for another day

Like how you place trash on top of the bin, rather than in it

Haha, if you ever tried to take a bus in Norway you'd understand

maybe i shouldn't call you looney tunes if i want you to contribute???
brings up another mental policy, leave all my crappy posts for history to judge. sometimes i want to delete, but i just can't

I get really, shall we say, particular about the laundry. My shirts have to be folded like they are in stores, you know, with the center section showing and the sleeves tucked in underneath. Boxers get folded into thirds lengthwise, then in half horizontally, so they form a nice, even square. Buttondowns get hung according to color, same with slacks and suits. Darks are on the left, then progressively lighter going toward the right side. Dress shirts on the left, then casual buttondowns, then slacks, then suits on the right side of the closet.
When I get dressed, I always put on the right sock, then the left, then the right shoe, then the left.
I shave my face from right to left (only with an electric razor). I shave my head in sections: top, then right side, then left side, then back (in the shower, only with a blade).I'm sure there's more weirdness, but I'll stop here.
