Very likely that I will have the sleeves shortened and **possibly shorten the vertical length by an inch. Other than that, diggin' this shirt.

why would you wann shorten these sleeves? looks perfect to me. And whjat the guys said is true.

There's a decent amount of stacking, i guess you could say, in the elbow region that I just don't want. That area highlighted has a good inch of excess folded over in the crease.

we'll see - I'm 5' 7". I can wait on adjusting the vertical length since that won't affect any fades or anything. But I don't want to get creasing in the arms only to find out that I want to shorten the arms and have a ridiculous shift. As it stands now, from the elbow up it's noticeably baggy. Don't want to do a hot soak because everything else fits fine.

^^ I did soak it. What I meant was I don't want to soak it again.
-
Actually I wore my Sh27 raw for some weeks before the first soak. Just because it will shrink doesn't mean you have to soak it right away.
-
@max why you didn't soak it at the first time ? I think with unsanforised denim you have to soak it not only to get a better fit but also get the shrinkage out. What difference does it make if you soak it at later stage ? You will have to wash it eventually so might as well do it at the first place.. If it has faded and you have yet to soak it I think it just makes things even worse and the fades will shift up when you wash em, no ?
-
I don't give a feck what I'm supposed to do. I liked the raw feeling so I wore it raw. Period. It's true, that the shrinkage comes when it's soaked / washed, but I don't see that as order to soak before I wear it some days - unless the fit screams for some shrinkage, which mine didn't.
Also, it has been washed now and the fades didn't shift or anything, so I'm fine.

hmm, that is interesting.. you know actually i cant be bothered to soak the shirt because the weather here is always cloudy lately, so i might do the same like you did

Well, I usually only handwash my denim, so it works for me. But of course, if you plan on hot ashing in the machine and maybe even use a dryer, a soak wouldn't harm. it's just no "must" IMO.
-
The reason for soaking raw denim is only in part to get the shrinkage out, it is also to bed in the constructional threads, if you do not soak raw denim prior to wear you will reduce the life of the garment…...So yes, of course no "must" just seems a little silly to me to reduce the life of a perfectly good garment....
