This is so cool! Yes, Sly & Robbie are the "hardest rhythm section in history"! My idols. Black Uhuru was and still is one of our (the band's) influences till this day. By the way, we are opening up for the "Mighty Diamonds" tonight…. can't wait!
whats the name of your band?

thanks.
Im playing the first song (top left in the music page of your site), nice voice and super horn section.
where are you based? and what do you play Pete?
-
you're right, I rushed to ask questions before going thru the website.
-
gbougard, you should PM Pete about getting Native Elements to collab with Sly and Robbie over the Riddim that Haraki-San chose. Now that would be an IH collab for the ages!
-
Epic idea
Thanks, I try. I know a majority of the guys in the band and am pretty sure it would blow their minds to have the opportunity. That and Native Elements are the best Reggae band in the Bay Area by far.

This morning, I thought of something in that vein, but gave up on the idea because I did not feel it would be right for a group (by essence a tight formation with a history together) to let go their riddim section to "make room" for S&R. Kinda disrespectful if you see what I mean.
Another idea would be to create a Iron Heart compilation. I think there is a couple of other musicians / artists in this forum, and we could put together an EP-worth of tracks in honor of IH.

I do. Maybe Native's vocalist could sing on the track. Just a thought. Anyhow, this is obviously your area of expertise. Just trying to contribute as I have no other way to do so here. Cheers

New development(s): Robbie and I were skyping and I mentioned the ideas floating around. His suggestions:
1. dont touch the first riddim, made for, and chosen by, Haraki,
2. pick another riddim for singers / musicians
3. get Giles to ask Eric Clapton to do a guitar part on a 3rd riddimI'll post riddim for 2 and 3 on soundcloud later
Giles you are a lucky bastard
