IHW-01 (Melton Wool shirt)
-
I'm not sure I'd go for the machine wash, but I'm happy and not surprised it took it like a champ.
I recently hand washed the navy in warmer than normal water to see if I could get it slightly shorter/narrower and it worked like a dream. Since it was it's first wash, prior to the heavy use season, I was surprised at how much I liked the slightly rumpled and worn-in uneveness of the melton.
Brilliant garment.

All the febreeze in the world is not helping my navy IHW-01 from smelling like an ashtray post-Berlin trip Think i'll need to do some trawling through this thread for some expert wash guidance!
Dry clean. I have done so to all (except the Charcoal) and they return perfectly. I do not trust myself to wash them like Monday. Nor do I have the time as I wear them so frequently.
-
Cheers all. I'm not Monday enough to clean on my own so I'll pop into the dry cleaners for a freshen up.
-
i actually like it more now because the parts that have the cotton bound are slightly faded & just look and feel really good. i will take pictures when i get a moment (or feel like it >:()
-
My concern is any shrinkage will ruin it (for me) as I only sized up one and it's still snug on my skinny frame
-
wish i had a before picture, but this is the cotton lining on my melton wool shirt after how ever many years & two washes in the washing machine delicate cycle. i scrubbed the inner lining on the sleeves & collar because it was dirty
-
yeah too snug on the forearms when layered . . . which is the way i would wear it. if i wear it alone with a tee it's fine
i'm just popeye . . . but i think G did mention it was close on the forearms. i just figured (like a fool i must add) that my IHD-01 fits fine in a xl so this should be fine as well.
so this scares me a bit, since i'm thinking about this shirt and am a man with bigger forearms as "normal" i'd say…

Yo guy or girl, stop being a bitch and buy this fucking shirt. I get nothing if you do, trust me. There is one thing you can count on from my statements and that is that I do NOT bullshit or lie. If there is something I am not a fan of for myself, I tend to stand down. However, I will never stray away from a technical or constructive conversation regarding any product. That being said, there is not one single complaint, reason, suspicion, whatever, etc. for you to doubt the benefits of this shirt and its presence in your arsenal. Trust. Does anyone think I would buy three of the same exact shirt? If you are able sell ANYTHING and get this in your war room… Church
(Side Note - It is 3:15am in NYC and I have been up to Whiskey tactics all night.)

Way to go, Lando!
I second every fucking thing you say about this shirt: it is a piece of art. I wear it as a jacket and I feel like a million bucks with it.
I would LOVE a type 3 jacket (with side pockets and inside pockets too!) in this fabric, preferably in dark blue. But that's another story.

OH hey guys.
-
i would rather you drunk text as opposed to drunk post
is that going to be the text for your Favorite Rugged Wear?
-
yeah what Lando said…fuck you guys.... ::)
