Good to know. A 8.2 aftershock is insanity! I have experienced a 7+ in 1989, but this is just nutty. Thoughts go out to our Eastern Brothers.

The 1st one is around 8.5-8.9 actually.
But I'm glad no tsunami.. 2004 was crazyGood god man! Please stay safe. I cannot fathom a 8.9…

I tend to look over the IH forums archives( old posts, threads etc.) and can't help but be amazed by the history of this forum and brand. It has come along way and I'm glad I'm part of it now. You'll never know what you'll learn by simply clicking on page 1 an reading right along through.
For example, I'm currently reading through the IH wallets&Chain thread and you can see the selection of wallets almost quadruple from where they first started. Thing of beauty.
Alright, just a thought I'd post to showing some love for the folks on forum and the brand that we all love and support.

thanks for sharing. if you wanna go way back, go read through the IH and Self Edge threads on sufu, loads of interesting stuff, unfortunately the bits and pieces of real history and interest are sprinkled amongst an assload of useless junk
for instance what became the 19oz SExIH07 originally was to be a SExTW collab with 16oz natural indigo dyed denim. And the Levi's lawsuit stuff. And leftofthedial's story about getting stabbed and his jeans getting cut off in the ER and then Kiya and his friends hooked him up with a new pair which are now one of the highlights of the sexih07 thread here. Good stuff

I actually read his post on Sufu a couple days after he posted it. I've been a lurking on Sufu since I was introduced to the denim culture back in high school, but I should go back and do some reading as it's been awhile.
And if remember correctly, the first pics of an IH jeans on the IH Thread were taken in the owners office and the brand was so unknown at the time that no one could really give him feedback on it. Pretty unbelievable now, since IH is synonymous to quality heavy denim jeans.
And it's always a pleasure reading the posts during the levi lawsuit. The tense planning and and waiting on what the outcome of the court case was, and then the immediate change in arcurate design/leather tag/red tab. Which, if I'm not mistaken, was literally down overnight. All great information people need to be exposed to.
It's great that their are veterans out there like you Jaco that can school us young folks on denim history/culture. Otherwise, it'll all just be another brand to us.
-
Oh, I know what you mean by "veteran." But to be honest with you, with your knowledge of stuff and ability to answer some stumping questions, its not hard to mistake you as one.
I'm sure we all know who the "Veterans" are. They seldom speak. They rather have their actions(or rather, their wardrobe) do the talking.
Mr. G; I believe Haraki-san posted a picture of a "prototype arc" on his blog. He stumbled upon on it when the owner needed it to be repaired. But no arcs? Never heard or seen…
